On the morning of May 10, 1996, climbers from two commercial expeditions start their final ascent toward the summit of Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth -- That's the beginning of the worst events in Everest history. Climbers died, the ones that survived were frostbit and had parts of their bodies amputated. It's one of the saddest events in the histories of mountain climbing.

So this movie is the story, sort of, of that awful day. It's not a dramatization of the facts but it is a story.

Personally, I read INTO THIN AIR by John Krakauer years ago and it is a better retelling than this movie.
