Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
I seriously want to be a eunuch and the only implied consent surgeon I can find in Atlanta is $5000. My insurance will only pay if your transgender and I'm doing this for religious reasons..Matthew 19:10 where Christ offers his disciples a chance to be a eunuch if they so chose. No he didnt mean it as an metaphor because nowhere in the bible does abstaining from marriage classify you as a holy eunuch...such as the ethiopian eunuch found in the book of Acts. In Matthew Jesus said its for "heavens sake" which means you will keep it eternally, if I by any means provoke those of you who are already eunuchs or want to be one to do it for religious reasons, because you now have Christian justification. I was smoking a blunt one day and God showed me and a friend a giant butterfly...verifiable stuff I'm not the only one who's told people about it. He was encouraging me to repent and eunuch dreams have led me to a strong desire and passion for being a Holy eunuch. However, money does seem to be an issue. Part time jobs and rent isn't cheap, playing the keyboard at church helps only a little. Does anyone know of some good ways to raise money and fund my orchiectomy? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
I do not fault anyone for a genuine, non-fantasy based, desire regardless of what I think of religion (all religions).
To answer your question, I would think the only logical answer is brute discipline and saving up for it. Absent a benevolent contributor to your castration fund, you have to rely on yourself. Change habits where you spend money... If you smoke, quit. Put that money aside. Eat out a lot? Stop, eat at home, put that money aside. $20 per week saved is $1040 per year. While it will not get you to castration immediately, you will get the money over time. It may seem a long way off, but you're talking just under 5 years, if you're disciplined and don't dig into any money you put aside.

I don't want to hurt your feelings or be disrespectful to what you believe, but I think that castration for religious reasons is no good idea. Let me explain why. God gave you a body with genitals, I think he did that with intention. What you do now is you reject this gift. Will God be happy about that? I don't think so. Instead you should be happy about the body God gave you and accept it as it is, because this is what God wants you to be like. If God wanted you to be castrated, he wouldn't have given you testicles. If you really believe in God, please accept your body as it is.

Let's not turn this into a religious discussion, argument, conversation, bru-ha-ha, or anything that the word "religious" can be used as an adjective for.
HOWEVER, let us look at the verse in Matthew as literature that has been translated and studied by scholars.
The original text, as Jesus (A) and I have discussed, uses the word for "Eunuch" meaning 'one who has had something cut off.' I can't get the search engines to give it to me right now - all I get is stuff about gay men...
Perhaps Jesus(A) can shed some light on this for us.

I think that you are misinterpreting the text and the Jesus is in fact referring to celibacy and not physical castration, but I could also be wrong. Have you discussed your idea with your pastor at all. This would possibly be a good starting place.
Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
Here's a bit scholarly research from our very own Jesus (A):
The Greek original was ευνουχοι (eunoucoi), which pretty much unequivocally means “EUNUCH” as one who has been physically castrated. Many of the earliest Christians clearly interpreted it that way and castrated both themselves and others–especially children (to save their souls). As a faith seeking to spread in the Roman-dominated world, that was a great problem. The Council of Nicea came down hard against any literal interpretation of what had been taken as the literal words of Jesus. Modern preachers, of course, would prefer to never even touch the subject. Attached are the first paragraphs (all you should need) of a clear statement by a religious scholar.
Eunuchs in the Bible
What is a eunuch in the Bible?
Megan Sauter • 11/01/2015
This Bible History Daily feature was originally published in May 2015. It has been updated.—Ed.
But he said to them, “Not everyone can accept this teaching, but only those to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.”
—Matthew 19:11–12
Stephen J. Patterson discusses what Jesus meant when he referred to “eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.”
Should the above words of Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew be taken literally? Is he saying that men—who can—should emasculate themselves?
The initial question that prompted this controversial teaching about eunuchs in the Bible actually concerned marriage.
When asked about marriage and divorce in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus informs his crowd that anyone who divorces—other than for reasons of unchastity—and marries another, commits adultery (Matthew 19:9).
Upon hearing this, his disciples respond, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry” (Matthew 19:10). Jesus then says there are indeed some who are called to be eunuchs “for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.”
What is a “eunuch” in the Bible passage? Is Jesus talking literally about castration—or just metaphorically about celibacy? Stephen J. Patterson, the George H. Atkinson Chair of Religious and Ethical Studies at Willamette University, addresses this question about eunuchs in the Bible in his Biblical Views column “Punch Thy Neighbor” in the May/June 2015 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review. He believes that the passage should be taken literally—that Jesus is talking about castration:
Scholars squeamish at the thought of Christian castrati have sometimes insisted that this passage must be referring metaphorically to celibacy. But that is nonsense. If Matthew’s author had meant to speak of celibates (parthenoi), he knew perfectly well how to do that. In a religious context, eunuch had to mean eunuch, else he would simply have confused his audience. In the Book of Matthew, Jesus advises men (who can) to emasculate themselves!
This interpretation is as controversial and countercultural today as it would have been in the days of Jesus—a time saturated with masculine dominance and power. In the Roman world of “phallo-dominance,” castration would have set anyone apart. Stephen J. Patterson explains that Matthew’s eunuchs “remov[ed] the thing that ancients most associated with male power and dominance. This is how they chose to embody the kingdom of heaven on earth.”

Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
the real holy eunuch were those who were castrated before puberty, so It´s too late being a holy eunuch for you. The most wanted in harems were those eunuchs castrated since they were children and they served to the harems until they had 15-16 years because they were considered incapable to think or do any sexual thing. then when they grew up some of them were part of the administration. But this is a historical view only. I don´t consider any human become "holy" only for being emasculated, because in some religions need to have a whole life practice as buddhism. chastity It´s only one virtue you need accomplish other ones such charity , humility, etc, so if you cumply only with chastity need the other virtues to work, spiritually speaking. Also castration is not needed for chastity. I feel subconciously its your own desire and independent of ýour religion.

Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
I think this thread is in danger of opening up a can of worms.
15 years ago I quit smoking cold turkey style. Perhaps this tecnique could be adopted with your sexual activity.
Safer, cheaper, and whats more the desire to do this and sucseed must come from within for it to work.
The surgeon may make sexual activity difficult but unfortunately the scalpel will not remove the desire.
BTW I'm agnostic

Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
Tmontgomery44,
Matthew 19:12 was probably the main reason I became fixated on castration during puberty. After a lot of prayer and soul searching, I was convinced Jesus was giving me a radical way out of my queer desires if only I had the courage to follow through with it. Hope there is no conflict with you between your religion and your sexuality. If that has anything to do with your desire to be a eunuch be really careful as you may regret it.

Re: Ways to pay for an orchiectomy/ holy eunuch
Thanks for all of the answers. The fact that the Apostle Paul did not marry but is never called a eunuch, not once in the bible, nor any of the other preachers that abstained from marriage are ever called a holy eunuch. There is a passage that talks specifically about the rewards of being one in Isaiah 56:4-6. Thank you, it is not a metaphor or you do not get the special name that is better than the sons and daughter. Holy eunuch can be reached from any age as long as its a man...hence, Jesus says ANY man can receive it. I'm not at odds about homosexuality but I fully comprehend and know what to expect from being one (eunuch). The whole purpose is to avoid women eternally.
