It took the first 45 minutes almost for me to figure out what was going on. I'm completely unfamiliar with the graphic novel.

It is very different and it seems to be part religious, part Sci-Fi, part Paranormal Activity...

A very different show.

Is it worth getting into another realm and all the baggage that requires.

Please advise.

BTW for a good time, catch up on Lucifer, by Fox, available with your OnDemand or online.

http://www.fox.com/lucifer/full-episodes

They go into deep, deep, old testament lore regarding angels, Lucifer, etc.

Some fun parts like a child who likes him and he abhors children, so innocent, and does not know how to

interact with the kid except as a dog offering a game of fetch. For which the kid loves him more.

I am so in love with Leslie-Ann Brandt who plays the demoness, Mazikeen.

The series invokes the 38th name of the Lord, Amenadiel the Angel of Work & Industriousness to encourage

Lucifer to leave L.A. and return to his duties in Hell.

And next season, the soul of the common mother to Lucifer & Amenadiel escaped Hell and they are commonly concerned.

Any guesses who that is?

Much more fun than Damien.

If anyone else is a fan of Lucifer on Fox, start the thread and I will join you there.

Not to hijack "Preacher" thread.

Moi 🚬

PS - Anyone who grew up steeped in Catholicism would enjoy, Lucifer by Fox for a good time.

PREACHER is going to be an acquired taste. I watched for 45 minutes before beginning to figure out the story.

IT was one thing to watch "Spartacus" on STARZ while knowing the history of the First and Second Punic Wars or a better example might be "Jurassic World" knowing the story of the three previous movies.

Another example is the three current incarnations of Sherlock Holmes, all of which handle the protagonists (Holmes and Watson) in a different fashion with different personalities for those characters.

However, PREACHER doesn't have that history and doesn't even follow the graphic novel. Plus. PREACHER isn't forthcoming with lots of exposition either.

I would say watch the entire first episode and then decide if you want to watch any more...

This is definitely going to be fun and interesting to watch.

I think that's because it is so different and with the current pile of garbage on TV, different is good.

It is now at episode five and the characters of PREACHER have come together and revealed themselves...

Jesse The Preacher is there. WE have seen him and his Father and the promise but we haven't heard why.

Tulip O'Hare his former girlfriend and generally bad girl who wants to kill Carlos (brutally)

The Cowboy is still in the west after the Civil War (he was at Gettysburg) and he will be here in the present. He is a patron saint of (Spoiler)

Quincannon is running the slaughter house.

Cassidy the Vampire is generally being a bad boy. He's not a vicious bloodsucker lusting after human blood but a general drunk and druggie who lives on blood. He's Irish and a drunkard and his accent is thick. Kinda scrawny, too.

DeBlanc and Fiore have just sat down with Jesse to explain what they want, not what it is, but they have its tin. They are in trouble because what they want is running away from them. It likes Jesse the Preacher. It likes Men of God, preachers, and Shamans. I"m not sure it likes or even cares about DeBlanc and Fiore.

And Eugene mostly known as (Arseface) is having a crisis of pain with his father, the Sheriff. Arseface is his name in the show and in the graphic novel -- Arseface. BTW -- if DEADPOOL is the stuff of nightmare and will haunt your dreams (As Weasel says in the movie) then Arseface is the nightmare's nightmare.

There is a 15 minute fight sequence that opens Episode 6 of PREACHER that is just so warped and fun and strange and truly strange...

DeBlanc and Fiore (the two most incompetent ever low caste angels...) Jesse (the Preacher that has the "thing") and eventually Cassidy (the vampire drunken, drug rotted Irishman) and a Seraphim (yes, Seraphim) have a fight that is just a delight to watch ...

Three of those five cannot be killed but they can bleed.

That force that we saw enter our solar system in the first episode is explained.

Arseface (Ian Coletti) makes some friends.

And something (I'm not sure of exactly what occurred) happens to end the episode.

Y'all ought to ask me about Arseface.

Episode 7 is slow to start but it finishes in spectacular fashion.

We find out why Jesse is so tormented.

We find out why Tulip is a whore and friends with Jesse.

We find out the truth about Arseface's past.

And what is it with this meat-packing plant? Looks like a lynch mob to me.

And where is the Cowboy? We haven't seen him in a while.

There's only three episodes left.

Tulip is one of more interesting characters I've seen.

Cassidy is a total hooligan in the most enjoyable sense of the word. He's refreshing in so many ways.

But where is the cowboy?
