This is aimed at those who are on Testosterone replacement therapy.
I have read in these posts that this stuff ain't the same as the real thing and some folks here are reporting loss of function or desire and mental welbeing on it.
I'm 58 and have been studying various sites and reports on the use of DHEA.
I have included my age as aparently your body's produuction of the stuff falls by 20% every decade after 30.
Therefore I'm about 60% down on the stuff.
DHEA is a testosterone pre cursor and It helps your body to make the most any availiable "T".
As a result it is classed as a steriod and is tested for in I.O.C competitions.
Good news is it is cheep as chips to buy and try.
In the UK I get mine mail order and take two 50mg caps a day.
In the states I guess most good health shops stock it.
Could this be of benefit for those on TRT ?.
AS said before I'm on 100mg a day and feel great on it.
Could be worth experimenting with if it don't work you are only a couple of bucks down on the deal.

DHEA is also known to improve libido. To my opinion it could help men on TRT because most of the time they aren't given enough T. There is an other hormone called pregnenolone which is a precursor to DHEA and progesterone (an other steroid) which is also a precursor to testosterone. Pregnenolone is also renowned to improve memory. Memory lost is often associated to low testosterone. I mention this because when I was on TRT my T level was rather low at 350 (12) and I had libido problem and also memory difficulties but at that time I didn't know this. At this present time I only use progesterone cream but I will eventually try pregnenolone. I had used anti androgen 8y. followed by 10 y of TRT. I quitted TRT 2 y. ago. I quitted following my doctor suggestion, because he was afraid of the possibility PC. He didn't believe it was possible for me to produce natural T anymore. I started to use natural products and nutrition to avoid the worst. It took over a year to bring my T level back to normal at 500 (17.35), which is quite normal for a man my age. Natural products and nutrition work !

Why do I use progesterone? Before I started to use progesterone, I had hair lost problem which is a sign of high DHT, High DHT is caused by high estrogen level . When estrogen level is too high , T level goes down and to compensate some of the T is converted into DHT which is 4 times more powerful than testosterone. First sign of high estrogen level is man boobs which I had, plus the hair on top of my head was getting very thin. I could count lot of hair in lavatory and on the shower floor avery day. "Minoxidil" couldn't stop it. Progesterone is an anti estrogen. I started to use it and the first thing I have noticed, was that I didn't have to run to the bathroom 4-5 times during. I now go only 1-0 time a night. I only found out later that progesterone is effective to control pissing at night. Eventually hair lost stopped and the hair that I had lost has regrown. I buy this progesterone cream on line at:
http://www.organicproducts-llc.com/natp ... cream.html (
www.organicproducts-llc.com/natpro-prog ... cream.html)
p.s. Natural progesterone has nothing to do with medroxyprogesterone.

My endo prescribed me DHEA (prasterone) to "protect" my ascended and athropied testicles and to prevent growth of tumors until my urologist decided If they need to be removed in the next appointment on october. At first he wanted me on testosterone but told him about my dysphorya and he appeared understanding and decided change the prescription and gave me DHEA which won´t produce me "virilization" he said, but I have some doubts according from I´ve read about DHEA .

Progesterone is a powerful DHT agonist. It modulates many of the negative side effects of E2 but I don't think it actively suppresses it.

Progesterone is also an anti estrogen if you take an adequate amount.

Hey you that in know, you have knowledge, have studied.. The thought was that DHEA made you produce a tiny bit of T.. The doctor know I am a Eunuch. I keep no secret, but the surgeon of recent seems to frown on the use DHEA.. Just wanted to know if Krister, Paolo or any of the other members have any input or thoughts on DHEA.

I've never given it any thought, to be honest.
