I hate to do this, but...

This morning I located a web page about an account of an orchiectomy procedure by Dr. Kimmel. I don't believe I have ever seen this person in the Eunuch Archive, yet she too advised contacting Dr. Kimmel directly and bypassing Dr. Spector if possible. She gave several reasons for this.

So it is with regret that I updated my website again to advise the reader to contact Dr. Kimmel directly. Dr. Spector has been (and still is) a sort of hero to me, and I did hate to snub him like this, but recent accounts from patients seem to indicate that his age affects him more these days. I still list Dr. Spector's site on the castration links page, but I no longer have either his website or contact information on my castration surgeons page at:

I do wish the good Dr. Spector many more years, and a relaxed retirement.

Sherry,

It is hard when he was someone you respect and has done so much good for the eunuch community but I do believe his age has caught up with him and is now hurting people, not by doing surgery because he has finally stopped that but financially. I understand some of the pain you must fell about this, I know its not easy but it is the right thing to do. I also wish Dr Spector well and would hope he retires out right and enjoys his remaining years. I think back to my own father who was very sharp at 85 but I sure would not have wanted him working on me, the other thing I noticed is my father was starting to forget things, it really would tick him off. But that is part of the aging process. The biggest problem I see is that Dr Kimmel is about 60 years old, we need a whole network of doctors around the country not just one or two. Anyway, I think I got a bit off topic, but I think you are doing the right thing with Spector.

It's kind of sad that Brianne's wife decided to leave her...

There's another advantage of marrying a bisexual woman: If you turn out to be a transsexual, she won't mind. :)

Same here. He helped me tremedously, and I am sorry that he is now in decline, although it happens to all of us sooner or later, and of course it will happen to me sometime in the future. But Dr. Spector WAS a pioneer. Dr. Kimmel continues the good work, but we need more like him to carry on when Kimmel retires.

The problem a lot of folks have is knowing when to quit, when to retire, a person enjoys what they do make good money at it so why quite, and often they are the last to realize that the wonderful job they were doing has left them long ago. At that point you just feel sorry for them, Spector surely fits in this category and it would not be so bad except that in the last few years he has really hurt people medically and financially. Yes respect the work he did but I think he waited about 5 years to long before quitting and with what he does this was 5 years to long.
