I was pretty skeptical, but I came across this vendor at the Homeland security expo that was open to the public this week. They had a demo of a home product setup. Mostly I assume they work with enterprise customers, but this home product was really interesting. They claim it is patented next generation anti-virus software. I installed it on my XP machine, along with my Norton 2002 Antivirus software.
The bottom line:
I can keep my son from installing programs on my computer.
No program, virus, email attachment, etc... will run unless I approve it and enter my password. Seems to work so far.
There is a free trial period, but I would recommend checking this out BBoy since you seem interested in protecting your computers...
Reply if you download this software or know of something like it thats free. hehe
