Snuff? Minors?

There's some good snuff stories on the archive, but when scrolling through the "new posts" part of the site I noticed that snuff has been banned even though stories sexualising minors are allowed (http://forums.eunuch.org/entry.php?669- ... ew-Stories!) (and often aren't labelled so you can accidentally come across them)? I also saw threats to ban people who continued to argue on that post because it was technically on a blog, and if people wanted to continue a discussion they should do so on the forum.

Now, my two cents is that Cainanite's argument is complete bunk - a lot of those minor stories are not about the reader self-inserting themselves as a child to fulfill trans identity fantasies, they're stories about people exploiting children - but either way it appears Paolo has taken over stewardship of the archive. Now I didn't want to comment on the blog posts to ask, as apparently that's how you get banned, but I was wondering if he might have a different stance on snuff stories? (As per: "The next steward may or may not feel the same")

Not everyone here is specifically exploring a trans identity, so it seems unfair to insist that stories only exist for their "therapeutic value". These are the story guidelines as they stand now (http://forums.eunuch.org/showthread.php ... t-Anything) - I find it telling that stories involving a baby are seen as "too far", which rather undermines the claim that stories about minors aren't sexual and are purely explorations of trans identity.

What do people think vis-a-vis snuff stories and stories sexualising minors?

No pun intended, but that's pretty ballsy for a first Forum post.

But thanks for bringing that to my attention so I can edit it again.

Actually, those guidelines haven't changed much over the years.

First off, a brief history of the Fiction Archive policy:

In the beginning, there was Bboy. He accepted and posted whatever was sent in, so long as it had a castration/penectomy theme. No matter how bad it was...

Later on, he "hired" me to help out with it. Same guidelines - I was to post whatever came in, so long as it's on-topic and readable. Clean it up some if needed, but "not too much." His orders.

Some time later, he put me in full charge of it. My job, my rules.

This was voted on at the EA Staff meeting part of a MOM (Meeting of Members) many years ago. It was agreed that whoever was stuck with the job of running the Fiction Archive made the rules.

After several years, I turned it over to Plix. I told him the same thing: your job, your rules.

For a while thereafter, it was a shared effort between Boss Tamsin (formerly IE, formerly Madnys) and Kristoff, as no one else wanted to do it. That is, until Kristoff talked me into coming back to it, as the Archive was becoming overwhelming for him. And then some time later, Cainanite took it over.

And it's a damn good thing he did it when he did, otherwise, there wouldn't have been a reposting and overhaul of the Fiction Archive. You have him to thank for 9 out of 10 stories that are hosted now.

Now here I am again. I think there's a pattern here.

Now, as for the snuff theme:

Back in the day, Bboy posted anything that came in, remember.

There are some snuff stories from back then. There may be some improperly tagged ones. As many times as the Archive has had to be redone because of hacks, equipment failure, etc., it IS POSSIBLE that some of the tags are wrong or even missing. As hard as we've tried, errors can and do creep in. For what it's worth, apologies for that.

I don't remember Plix's policy on snuff, but Cainanite refused to post it. At that time, it was his job. His Archive, his rules.

I don't care for snuff stories, either. Therefore, I don't want to have to deal with them. I look at the Archive as a service, which I do in my free time, and I choose to NOT spend my free time reading about murdering children, butchering and/or raping of babies, all in the name of blood and gore and violence - while NOT in the name of a good story.

So, my rules? If I don't like it, I won't post it. If it made me throw up when I read it, and I wasn't warned by the author in advance, I won't post it.

I'm in charge of it. My Fucking Archive, my Fucking Rules. Deal with it.

You get what you pay for. Oh wait, the Fiction Archive isn't behind a pay wall!

Now, as for your argument that Cainanite's argument is bunk, you're entitled to your opinion.

You're entitled to share it.

You're also entitled to know that I think that what you think is bunk.

If you think that what I think is bunk, that's fine.

The major difference is that YOU don't make the fucking rules, though. Pun intended, in case no one noticed.

Personally, I find your post without merit, intentionally provocative, and covering a topic that has been done to death.

Therefore, it's DONE. The thread is closed.

Start another one or argue with me about how the Forum or the Archive is run, and I'll put my foot up your IP address's ass - then you won't have to worry about the content, because you won't be reading it. In the case of the former, expect the Good Sister's foot up your ass.
