I just returned to my car this morning and heard the end of discussion on the benfits of castration - how Eunchs live longer - have less stress - and are calmer.

It was also mentioned that Sigmund Freud had himself castrated to gain these benfits.

This was on BBC Radio 5 - a news/sport radio station in the UK

Did anyone else hear this?

bella--

i definitely did not hear BBC Radio 5 on September 17, but i would be very interested in knowing more about their comments concerning Sigmund Freud. perhaps the station has its old programs available to be listened to on the web... or perhaps a transcript can be had that clarify exactly what they said about Freud. afterall, the father of psychoanalysis did spend the better part of his life talking about castration anxiety as a formative principle among men...

I have e-mailed the BBC and asked if there is a transcript/recording available.

It was the Nicky Campbell show but no mention on their website.
