I been reading these forums and have come to the conclusion that any form of DIY is a bad idea. However, let's assume some "what if" scenarios and assess their relative risks.
Scenario #1
One pulls together a surgical kit and local anaesthetics, goes to a hospital ER room. Goes to the bathroom, makes a sterile area to begin, ligatures the cords and attempts to remove them. When they are out (or one is about to pass out), one immediately presses the emergency button which would call the ER team into the bathroom. What are the chances of dying with immediate help?
Scenario #2
While to perform #1 would require severe desperation I have come across alcohol injections in my readings. I have also come across the many helpful people who have said it is also a terrible idea (thanks to those people). I also want some more information about what the injected alcohol could do to other parts of the body as it gets sucked away from the site, passing through veins and organs and eventually processed by the liver.
So just for the basis of pure risk which one is more dangerous? I already know they are terrible ideas and I want to point out to everybody \|BAD IDEAS|/, this is just for hypothetical interest. So... risks of #1 vs #2?
Thanks,
Ash

Re: What if I...?
If you're bound and determined to do it, then the bathroom near the ER would be the PERFECT place to do it.
You'd probably want to leave enough bound up cord/scrotum for them to work with, though. Expect a bru-ha-ha and stay in the psyche ward, as well as a huge bill.
As for alcohol injections, you're slurping down a LOT more alcohol in a drink that's a double than you're injecting into a testicle. So long as you're using grain (ethanol) drinking alcohol and NOT something like rubbing alcohol, which is seriously, unbelievably, amazingly toxic.

Re: What if I...?
Thanks for the humor although I'm not sure what a bru-ha-ha is.... sure people will laugh and that doesn't matter as far as i'm concerned.
Where I live the hospitals don't charge patients for emergency care and about two weeks in a phyche ward wont do any harm to somebody who already has nothing to lose, I can say to the psycs that it was stupid and that I will be on my way home to live a normal life.
I was trying to describe a best case in a worst case scenario. You always hear about the ones who do stupid stuff and wait 24 hours before going to the ER and nearly die, surely being in a hospital is "safer".
What I didn't get from your humorous comments was an evaluation which highlighted any key differences as far as the risks are concerned. Though if I had to guess by your use of cleaver language, I would say you probably think alcohol injections are the safer of the two.
EDIT: Bad ideas become great ideas when you have nobody in your life who will even notice when you are gone. So i'm here venting my frustrations at how gross I find my male genitals and body by coming up with stories for my head to think about other than the hate for every hair that grows on my arms, chest face and all the other things that come with being male. The testicles make the T which just make more hair, more muscles, more boney features, more everything and it has to stop... soon... preferably now. And the way medical systems are you have to see some psyche behind a desk for a year while paying a fortune before you even get a recommendation for anything. and quite honestly I don't care for waiting a whole year for somebody to tell me "yes you are insane, go see this endocrinologist that you have been asking to see from the beginning"
I already tried to DIY HRT and made myself rather sick even with normal low doses. I'm not sure if it was the spiro or the estrogens but I got bad back pains, my veins swelled, and I stopped making urine for a whole day before I stopped taking them. I'm hoping to find a way that I can take a much lower dose and not take the spiro at all, and the removal or nullification of the testicles is the best option in that regard.

Yes, just trying a little humor.

While we don't advocate self-harm here, or anything DIY, yes - you're safer with a tiny bit of alcohol than cutting on yourself. Testicles do have arteries going to them. Any arterial bleed is a very serious thing. I've seen them in person. As I understand anatomy, an unsecured and then cut testicular cord will go slithering right on up into the body and continue to bleed out, and will very much increase the risk of death from blood loss. It will require longer, more complex surgery to retrieve it and seal it.
The alcohol alternative (see the thread about alcohol injections) is pain, and still having those testicles in there until some professional decides to remove them.
And yes, DO VENT here. Please vent.
You'll find a lot of others here who certainly relate.
Yes, the compulsion can be very strong. As others see this thread, I'm sure they'll chime in. But it's Saturday night for most of us, so you might have to wait a bit. Maybe Sunday afternoon for some of us to dry out.
You'll also find that a lot of people here will NOT think you insane for these thoughts.
Things are getting better in professional circles for the concept of Male-to-Eunuch gender dysphoria, and BIID, if either of these are your case. But it's not 100% there yet.
I get the idea that you are of the "not male" mindset, whether that alternative be female or be it eunuch.

Re: What if I...?
When I go back to my home country in January I will be pleading with my doctor to do something. I wish I could go back to Australia now but I'm stuck in Sweden with family so, fml. I become desperate when I know that even the DIY female hormones nearly did me in. I'm out of options except getting on the long doctor+psychology gatekeeper train and wait. I'm not about to do something like that DIY HRT experiment again.
I'm curious on a purely academic level, did those who injected alcohol experience a drop in their Testosterone?

Yes, they did. Once the damage was done.
