The last of the Siamese brothers died today of old age.

I maintained a hospice this past week. Solly was 17+ years old.

It is as if I can feel the absence of his life force in our bedroom. He liked that room and rarely left it.

He would wait for me to get into bed and then - It was his love time, no matter how tired I was.

He would "spoon" in by tummy and if I didn't hold his back legs, he would kick them.

After some time he would move on but, when I awoke in the morning, Solly was sleeping across from me.

If I woke up in the middle of the night, I would call him and he would come do the above routine with me.

Solly was my "puppy dog" kitty and I will miss him very much.

I never knew such a "puppy dog" cat before. He was also the largest, big bear feet, cat I ever cohabited.

RIP Solly kitty,

he is with Izzy, his brother, who passed 8 months ago.

Moi :(

Sorry Moi. I lost my cuddliest kitty last year. I still miss her. I did get a kitten a few weeks after and she is a cuddler too, just not quite as much. However she is like a puppy and plays with straws like a puppy with a bone.

Can't live without my furry friends....

My sympathies. :(

It's always rough losing a pet.

My condolences on your loss. It's very difficult to lose such a friend.

Check this out if y'don't get what I mean as I copy / paste

http://www.onegreenplanet.org/http:/www ... ooze-pile/

" If you have lived with a cat, you already know the number one unbreakable rule for when kitty decides to sleep on you: don’t move a muscle. Seriously."

Solly wasn't like that. He was a teddy bear kitty. And if I woke up in the middle of the night and he was sleeping elsewhere, I could call him and he would come back and comfort me back to sleep, spooning style.

Solly's brother, Izzy who passed some 8 months before would curl up in a tight ball and if I dared breathe too hard, "leave".

They were Siamese.

The remaining cat, Old Fat Black Kitty, OFBK, is mostly Persian and they are not so snugly.

How to ID a kitten as a possible Solly kitty is my question.

Solly was very skittish for years and if I held him and he got (easily) startled, I got shredded.

He did have large, bear paws and I am thinking that as key, besides breed qualities like an Abby or Siamese or Persian.

The next generation.

Anyone here have a cat that preferred to spoon with them at night?

Not sleep at the feet, but spoon.

Solly was special that way. He hunted me to the time I would try get into bed and before I could adjust my pillow or pull the covers up, he was yelling until given his spooning position. He would like me to hold his back paws/ankles and pull close. If I didn't, he kicked until I got the message.

It did help me fall asleep to because, "we" know - when a cat sleeps with you, you do not move.

OFBK is social, likes to be pet and verbally acknowledged but, like a Persian - not snugly.

Anyone ever have a cat that liked to spoon?

I once had a cat that thought he was a Davy Crockett hat.

Brittany who was a Himalayan-Persian mix, used to sleep on me. On my hip if I was on my side, or the small of my back when sleeping face down. She also discovered there was a space between my pillow and the ex-wife one night, and then slept between our heads after that. She also was known to push me to the very edge of the bed until we got her a king size mattress :)

Katy for the for a number of years from when she was a kitten would get on the bed each night when we went to bed and cuddle with me (just me which pissed off the ex). She would get up and do the massage thing on my chest for 5-10 minutes and then cuddle up in the crook of my arm for half an hour or so. She was a super sweet cat.

Linsey (pictured) Is a non cuddler. She will have loving sessions with me on the bed or at the computer desk. She will also visit with me on the couch and get up close and personal. Earlier tonight I was lying on the couch and she put her front paws on my shoulder which was very unusual. She likes to purr me to sleep at night.

Jamie who is about a year and half old is a snuggler. She does what Katy used to, except she does it on the couch when I am lying down. She does the massage and then gets in tight in the crook of my arm. Her head goes under my chin, and when she puts it down her fur goes up my nose. She's too sweet to make move. Thankfully she smells good. :) When I am sitting upright, she jumps up into my arms and I hold her about chest height and let her snuggle in. So she spoons on the couch whereas Katy would spoon on the bed. Linsey is not a spooner, and Brittany walked all over me and pushed me around.
