Cosmetic SRS

I did not realize until the other day this was something some doctors are doing now. Cosmetic SRS differs from normal SRS in that no neo-vagina is created. Normally in SRS the scrotum is used to create the labia, the glans is used to create the clitoris and penile inversion to create depth in the vagina. In cosmetic SRS, only the labia are constructed with no vaginal opening. I'm not sure if the clitoris is constructed using the glans or not. Obviously there would be shorter recovery and no need for dilation. So basically what it amounts to is an orchidectomy and a penectomy with a slight amount of cosmetic surgery thrown in. I understand there is a doctor in England doing this and I also heard Marci is doing it in California although I don't know that for a fact.

I´m very interested on cosmetic SRS, I´m a little afraid of complications with a complete SRS, I supouse cosmetic is a slight "cheaper" than the complete surgery,

When I was reading about it, it didn't seem to be that much cheaper although I guess you would have to get quotes. I'm sure you probably have to jump through all the DSM hoops with at least a year RLE and all before anyone would approve it. The one thing I can see with cosmetic SRS is the orchiectomy could be done anytime. Most SRS surgeons worry about lack of tissue with the orchiectomy done way in advance. With cosmetic SRS there's no worry about depth, no worry about shrinkage.

Looks like Toby Meltzer in Scottsdale, AZ and Yves Brassard in Montreal also do the "partial vaginoplasty." And someone said it is a good bit cheaper. For anyone lucky enough to have insurance that will cover it, Brassard handles U.S. insurance. Plus the exchange rate with Canada is pretty good.
Also found out the glans is still used for the clitoris and even with no vaginal vault, orgasm is still possible if that's a concern.

I'm 69 and I'm very interested in a cosmetic SRS. Do you know in US doctors who do this surgery?

Dr. Toby Meltzer in Scotsdale, Arizona and supposedly Dr. Marci Bowers in Burlingame, California although I didn't see anything on Marci's website about it. And obviously on us more "mature people", the shorter length of time for the actual surgery and quicker recovery time would be a benefit.

This is interesting, and a good option for those who were castrated long before considering RS, who have no scrotal tissue and "micro" penis, or those afraid of going the whole way.

I agree. There are so many possible complications with the full surgery and if vaginal sex isnt that important its a fantastic option. It took me almost 6 months to feel really human again after mine. This option sound like a fraction of the time.

Someone on here or Tumblr brought this website up recently:
The Mexico Transgender Center:
http://www.mexicotransgendercenter.com/ ... ation.aspx (Note: My virus checker says it's a clean link. I did not include the text from the link as it has a copyright at the bottom of the page).
They list about every possible combination of transgender surgical procedure. The one missing is the in this discussion. But, with everything else they list, it's difficult to imagine they wouldn't do this.
I had chatted with a guy who'd been to Thailand for his castration a while back (who knows how much he told me was real). He did know about this option for SRS and made a very good point. When selecting this option, the full SRS with a vagina becomes more difficult later. Which is a good point to consider.

Thanks for the link.
Before the castration ban in Thailand in 2008, male genital surgery was wide open. One of the surgeon in Samui Clinic was doing anything possible on request. His name was Dr. Mike Connor. I believe he is in jail since he refused to comply with the castration ban law (forbidding teenagers castration). He modified submissive men on request of their wives or dominatrix. His website remained active about 2 years after he was jailed, on which we could read all what he has done or could do. He has also published an interview in which he stated that once a German family, husband and wife, their adult son and daughter, came to see him for the 2 males to be nullified. Laws are still enforced but the government close their eyes on it. Same as for prostitution, it is illegal but every one who visited Bangkok knows there are brothels in every second door.
