I've bought the first Harry Potter book about two weeks before the third book was published and I fell in love with it at once. I practically devoured the first two books and queued in front of the book store with a serious case of "Harry Potter fever" on the day the third book was released.

Now I own all four books as well as the audio books (the Jim Dale version), I've seen the movie thrice on the big screen and own the DVD.

Of course, I browsed the web for fan fiction but I never found a story that could even remotely match with Paolo's wonderful "Knife of Klingsor" series.

While the release date of "The Order of the Phoenix" is rumored to be delayed until June 2003 Paolo has kept that "Harry Potter fever" alive in me for almost three months now. I can't thank him enough for this.

Thanks to Paolo and his series I have become a serious HP freak. I devoured the first 3 books, and I know for a fact that I was one of the first in Raleigh to buy a paperback version of book 4. I had to wait while they unpaced the box so they could sell me one.

As I have already stated, Paolo's "humble" submission is every bit as good as the published books... In my opinion even better!

Well, thank you!

I am so flattered.

I also have a special surprise in store for fans of The Knife of Klingsor. It's not ready yet, but when it is, I'll post about it. Bboy already knows about it, though, and he's going to help me make an easy way for it to work for everyone. I hope.

For those who like desktop themes as well, in Windows, you can get some Harry Potter themes easily by searching sites like Tucows or Download.com

Having started one of the books because of all the hype, I found it distinctly under-whelming. So much so that I could not bring myself to finish it - so I have never actually read one.

However, I still think that Paolo's writing is far, far superior in every way.

Ya know, if I had the time, I'd just rewrite CHAMBER OF SECRETS in my OWN fashion...

Thanks guys!

I admit the results surprise me ... first because there haven't been too may responses, and second because I didn't forsee that 'haven't read any of the books' would get that many votes percentage wise!

I just cast my vote in the poll. NOTE: Not only have I read all the books, I have read them in the unaltered British versions.

Speaking of British versions ... did anyone catch the fact that in the movie, Nearly Headless Nick is played by John Cleese, of MONTY PYTHON fame!?

Line heard at the Gryffindor table at breakfast : "Well, whatcha got?"

"Ohhh, there's egg bacon sausage and spam ..."

I think Python fans get the point without me posting the whole skit again!

I did not vote because I think that the poll is missing at least one category -- "No, but seen and enjoyed the movie".

Note sure, but to me the option "Yes, but I have only seen the movie" is the same as what you said. Unless you enjoyed the movie and HPKoK and STILL don't like HP :tongueout

And HP&KoK of course.

There is a high likelihood that the pool is skewed here because it is less likely that readers who did not care for HP will not participate.

While I agree with you that the poll is skewed against the general population, the intent of the poll is to measure the amount of pre-Knife of Klingsor HP activity people had been in to.

So I am specifically targeting KoK readers :)
