Testosterone Gels Question about application
This is more of a curiosity question. I use the testosterone gels that you spread on shoulders or abdomen. No problems. My question is the instructions state "do not use on scrotum". Why not? I have googled about this but no where gives a reason, sites just say don't put it directly on your balls. Anyone know why you shouldn't?

Androgel, for example, is dosed according to normal absorption rates for shoulders, stomach, etc. Absorption on the scrotum is much faster and more complete - using your normal dose on scrotum will essentially overdose you, based on normal levels.

Re: Testosterone Gels Question about application
As I've mentioned recently in another thread, it sucks that most of your Androgel dose is wasted due to poor absorption. However, as Uncle Flo mentions it stings and irritates the scrotum. So I prefer to use Androforte 5% cream that is specifically formulated to spread on your scrotum. I've used it for years and no irritation at all.

BTW the application is not much user friendly. To wait few minutes, then it is visible on the shoulders like strange layer.... I would prefer a patch or something.

Re: Testosterone Gels Question about application
I am on the gel and asked the doc why it said avoid the genitals, he said it was due the the sting putting people off applying it often enough,
I use it as a lube and masturbate with it on my cock each time I apply it. Yes it does sting a bit but is a nice sort of sting. Its a reason to exercise the otherwise useless cock every day.

Re: Testosterone Gels Question about application
Does anyone use T-Gel, the generic version of Fortesta? For me it's about a tenth of the price of Androgel. Applied to the inside of the thighs. I have the distinct impression that the location is because you're less likely to pass it to a partner than if you apply it to the chest and shoulders. Supposedly it has the same therapeutic effect. The smell of either (alcohol) should be enough to warn you not to apply to the scrotum.

Do you get the option of shots instead.
I cant help but feel that the dosage can be controlled better this way.
There is the disadvantage of bruising and risk of infection of the injection site.
In the UK my consultant steered me away from gels as the results can vary for each individual.
