I was surprised when I read that they were going to make another movie version of this story. It has been done before and done very well.
I like the idea of the hero being branded and castrated with the white hot poker. I think he should have had his tongue ripped out, and then sent out to search for his friends.
Then once he found them, They all get more torture. but that is the next chapter in the story.

The version that I've seen is the 1939 one. There was apparently another staring Beau Bridges (I think), but I haven't seen it. I liked the original version-looking forward to the one due out next week. It was a good story-hope Hollywood hasn't screwed it up. I liked my ending better, tho
