A Couple of Questions

Post by Hopeful1 (imported) »

First of all let me ask this. While I am not on any form of medication specifically for chemical castration, I have been having the following. Hot flashes, impotence, penile shrinkage (a lot), easy weight gain, difficult weight loss. Plus emotional instability such as crying at sad and/or romantic movies. I also tear up at beautiful music including just about every song Celtic Woman sings and especially Danny Boy.:) Now, let me add that I do still have some libido even if I can't do anything about it and I would be glad to get rid of it completely. While I'm no longer taking it, I was on a low dose (usually .25mg) of Estradiol for several years (some gynocomastia). Oh, I've always had only one working testicle although I understand it would normally make enough T to make up for the other? And even that working(?) testicle has shrunk some plus orchalgia. Having read a lot on this board, it seems that a lot of what I've written is what others have described as happening post castration. I'm having my doctor at my next scheduled visit check my T levels but does this sound like extremely low T to some of you more knowledgeable members?

Second question. I've been reading about Androcur and have one question regarding it. When Androcur is begun, is there a testosterone spike before T levels start dropping?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

The answer to both questions is "yes."

The symptoms you are expressing are suggestive of a T-deficiency. A blood test is warranted.

Many people have reported a T spike with the onset of androcur, but it seems to be short-lived.

The first question sounds like textbook low testosterone.
