The concept of a transsexual is obviously controversial, but it's an intelligible concept to the masses. The concept of the eunuch needs to become an intelligible concept to our society so we can get the medical help we need and not be seen as freaks. Any ideas for activism? Is anything like this underway?

You need to find a more friendly community, a lot of Dr's are too conventional and brainwashed.

Dr. Wassergus is a cancer survivor that just happens to be thrown into becoming chemically castrated, certainly not by choice. While he done extensive studies involved in this area he certainly is not advocating it. Probably best to not to complicate the issue unless you also happen to have prostate cancer. Getting back to the unwillingness of the endocrinologist, this is more typical than not. You need to be back in contact with your therapist to find out if there is another doctors in your area or possibly search out a therapist who specializes in this area. If you happen to live in metropolitan area there are endocrinologist that will do this, especially if they work with oncologists.

If the endo isn't comfortable with it (may be because they fell competent with it), it's good that you know and can find one that is knowledgeable. I'd find some trans people in your area and find who they use. PM me and I can probably find someone in your area.
