Erections after removal of balls and empty scrotum

Post by sprbggr (imported) »

I am concerning to go to Dr Ankoff for castration and scrotum removal. However I am planning to do HRT after. If the scrotum is removed is the skin then flexible enough so you can still get an erection without being hurt by the skin to short. Or should I just tell this to the doctor. Who is castrated without scrotum and can still have a normal sexlife on HRT. Is it wiser do do the scrotum removal later or should it be done at the same time better.

When I had myself castrated, I left the scrotum intact. I wanted everything in that area to return to the new normal, which of course included a saggy, empty scrotum. Nine months later I had my scrotum cut off and told the Dr. do not make it tight do not make it loose. Now it looks like there was never anything there. I have no problem with the skin being tight with an erection. Sorry I have no knowledge of the effects of HTR on sexual activity.

There can be a lot of swelling post castration, mine swelled to the size of a baseball or larger. If you remove the scrotum at the same time you may experience a lot more discomfort, scars and possibly ripping the sutures out. I had most of my scrotum removed but they left enough near the base of my penis for an erection without stretching the skin. I'm glad they did, even with some remaining it still pulls pretty tight. I think it's better to do the scrotum later.

Most doctors it seems will recommend a 2 step approach.

I agree that swelling can be a huge issue. Massive scaring can result.

The biggest issue with bleeding from any surgery down there is that it has to clot. The usually "put pressure" on it does not really work all that well. Too much soft tissue I think.

bed rest only is what I was on for over a month. Terrible time.

It seems the YMWV theory really applies here. Forget scrotum removal for the moment. Even for orchiectomy some say they went back to work after a couple days and others report all sorts of troubles, bleeding, swelling, pain, slow healing, etc. I can only assume the skill of the surgeon , like all surgeries, plays a huge role.

I think it'd be best to have the least invasive part - orchiectomy - done initially and then to have sac removed later if you wish. You also may no more about how tight you want the reduction to be later. I healed relatively rapidly from the bi-lateral orchiectomy: 3 weeks & returned to work 2 days following castration (castrated on Saturday; back to work 9 a.m. Monday).
