I've just persuaded my GP to prescribe a diuretic for me to treat "gravitational oedema" and she gave me a scrip for this. I was pleased to note that one of the common side effects is "impotence" :dong:

Anyone have any experience of this drug and its effect (apart from making you pi$$ like a horse)?

Min.

PS - I'm on 2.5mg daily, but I've decided to double that up for the first week

Well it's 8 months down the line and in the absence of any comment from anybody, I guess that makes me THE forum expert on Bendroflumethiazide!

Per my OP, I doubled the dose in the first week and by day 7, erections had got noticeably difficult to achieve and maintain, as well as much softer. BUT, I could still get there...

I reverted to the prescribed dosage and continued them for 6 months. From week 3, normal function was restored, I assume due to the lower dosage and my body getting used to it.

I think it's fair to say that an increased dose (say, 5-10mg) over a longer period of time would have an even more noticeable effect.

So, if you're looking for an erection-killer, this may be worth a try (but only if you can convince a GP/PCP of the medical necessity)
