Minimum HRT Shot Regimen to Remain Physically "Masculine?"

The balls attached to me haven't worked for several years, and i've been on HRT shots for about three years (the gel doesn't work for me---did almost nothing). i've been on 200mg cyp shots every ten days. Starting with a therapist appointment tomorrow and a new, cooperative doctor on Tuesday, i'm starting down the road to castration (at the very least) and penectomy (i hope) on the basis of gender. i'm not "male." i'm a transmasculine neutrois. The past two testosterone shots, i've cut my dose in half, and felt fine. i do plan to continue HRT after my castration, as i want to remain hairy and masculine-appearing. Does anyone in a similar situation have information on what the LOWEST dose of HRT shots would be to remain "masculine" physically?

Another mileage will vary thing. While the medical community like to one size fits all this, it's not quite that simple.
Generally they will start out with testosterone shots at a dosage of 1mL of 200mg/mL testosterone cypionate every two weeks. Sometimes they will start out with Androgel (if youc an get it, it's quite expensive) with a 5G packet every day. For the astute folks who notice that is 25x the amount of medication above, it's not. That's 5G of total GEL not Testosterone.

Each AndroGel 1% packet delivers 50mg of testosterone in 5 grams of gel.

Unfortunately, Androgel does almost nothing for me. i was on it for a few months, and it raised my testosterone levels a whole 15 points. That's why i'm on shots.

i got test results back from the doctor. After 21 days of using only half the prescribed dose of testosterone shots, my levels dropped predictably from about 860 down to 481. i still feel just great. i see the doctor again in three weeks, and might ask her about lowering it further. When i first went onto testosterone replacement, i was at about 215 with no feminizing effects. The doctor assures me that after as long as i've been using shots (not to mention other things she knows i did to try and kill off the testicles), they're not going to start producing again. That said, i would think i should be able to safely get down at least to 200 without losing physical "masculinity."

There is no lowest dose as a standard. Each person will respond somewhat differently depending on your body's own requirements. The best way is keep going with what you are doing, trial and error. There are men that are in the 300 range with their T that are perfect and other that anything under 800 they feminize. Good luck with your procedure.

my doctor has suggested that given my strong genital dysphoria, and my goals, i can taper off and stop my testosterone shots. She will talk with me on our next visit about managing potential negative effects. i've read that a low dose of estrogen will help stave off osteoperosis, etc., when testosterone is cut off, so maybe we will try that. i'm at a point where erections are just repeated reminders of what doesn't belong attached to me, so if most or all of those can be eliminated---not to mention the resulting shrinkage---that will be a big plus.
