That guy who claimed to have been attacked (although in my opinion likely did it himself) now found dead. Guess he was suicidal? Hope he wasn't someone from the Archive, but sad in any case. Even if you wanted to be dickless, having everyone know you are would be pretty daunting to face.

A father-of-seven who brought a road to a standstill last year after his penis was cut off was yesterday found dead.

Kelvin 'Kelly' Hewitt, then 40, was found covered in blood and searching for the severed organ at the side of the A66, near Middlesborough, in the early hours of March 12 last year.

Yesterday, police were called to an address in South Bank, Middlesborough, where the body of Mr Hewitt was found.

A police spokesperson said: 'Officers were called to an address on King George’s Terrace in South Bank at around 8.45am this morning, Thursday 7th May, after the body of a man, aged in his forties, was found.

'The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious at this time.'

It was initially believed Mr Hewitt had his penis cut off in an attack last year at a site often used by the traveller community.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault but was later released without charge and police later closed their investigation.

Mr Hewitt was found in a distressed state on the side of the A66 dual carriageway.

Officers from Cleveland Police closed part of the road to search for the missing manhood, but were not able to find it.

The builder, originally from Redcar, moved on to the Heaven Traveller's Site at South Bank about six years ago.

It was originally reported that Mr Hewitt was the victim of a revenge attack but close friends and family of Mr Hewitt later said they thought the assailant had attacked the wrong man.

At the time, a friend told The Mirror: 'He has a big family in the area, and it has shocked everyone who knows him. He is no villain.

‘You wonder if he was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and whoever did this was looking for someone else. We can see no reason for anyone having a go at him like this.'

After the incident he had to be placed in an induced coma at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesborough.

Once he was woken up, specially trained officers visited him to conduct interviews but, for the first several attempts, he was too traumatised to speak.

Eventually after weeks of intense therapy, the construction worker was released from hospital.

One of the first things he did after being discharged from hospital was to post a picture of a fry-up on his Facebook page, with the caption 'Get in'.

Friends and family of Mr Hewitt wrote messages of support under the picture.

Jonathan Hewitt posted: 'Get it down you followed by a few bevies you deserve it'.

While Christopher Bracchi said: 'Now pal I'm glad ya on the mend hope all is well pal I'll see u for a pint sum time bud (sic).'
