Greetings Everyone,
My radical orchiectomy is scheduled for Thursday, May 14. I will finally be rid of my atrophied and infarcted testicles, and free of the pain I've dealt with over the last couple of years. I had to change urologists to get this accomplished because the first one recommended removal, then back peddled after a CT Scan and tumor marker tests were negative. He decided to monitor them every 3 months. I was not happy with him, so I went to my GP to complain of pain and lumpiness, so he ordered another ultrasound. That ultrasound showed 2 hypo-echoic (solid) lesions on my Right testes, and 1 on my Left. My GP saw the results and immediately sent me to another urologist friend of his. This new urologist took one look at the report and said that only 1 in 1,000 of these cases are cancer, so he gave me two options: We could monitor them every three months for cancer with ultrasounds, or, if they are bothering me, he would remove them. I gave it a few days, then I emailed the doctor to tell him that I don't want to suffer the pain and then find out after six months that it developed into cancer, so I told him I want them removed. He supported my decision and agreed to take them out. I am having prosthetic implants put in so that I will look esthetically whole.
I should note that my testicles were already damaged, and had not produced T since 2003, and after 12 years of HRT, they atrophied dramatically. I helped the process along with 3 injections of a total of 6ml of Everclear. It was just enough to put them over the edge. I suspect that even without the EC, they would have had to come out in a few years.
In about a week I will join the Eunuch brotherhood and be a real Eunuch at the hands of a medical professional. My desire to be a Eunuch did not trump my sense of self-preservation, so I wanted it done in a hospital setting, and not on my kitchen table!
