Question concerning testicular shutdown

When using drugs to suppress testosterone production in your testicles, is there a time frame for it becoming permanent? How long can they be shutdown before they lose the ability to return to their previous level of production? I've read of bodybuilders that use artificial testosterone while training of having to use other drugs to kickstart their testicles back to producing T once they stop the supplements. Would appreciate any and all to comment on what they know or have experienced personally on the subject.

In Sept. 2014 my urologist discovered that my testosterone level was very low and said that it could cause many bad things to happen, like weak bones and heart trouble and so forth. He has been giving me a testosterone shot every 3 weeks. Within the first 3 weeks my testicles shrank drastically, they are now about the size of peanuts. Along with the shrinking I had a large testicular cyst that disappeared completely, it used to cause pain when I sat on it wrong. I actually like them the way they are now and not worried about it. He said I will always need the injections and the testicles will always be small and atrophied. He said what do you want to do with them anyway, which is true. He said the only real cure is to get about 40 years younger and I don't have a time machine. Good luck with your situation.

This is of interest to me. I would love to have my testicles shrink to the size of a peanut or even smaller. I'm curious to hear if you can still get an erection and orgasm?

Yes as long as you are on testosterone, erection and orgasm is possible unless there are other problems down there. The time it takes for non-reversible atrophy varies greatly.
