Yakuza 1974

If YOU like the original Yakuza movie with Robert Mitchum, 1974

here it is on YouKu and now, the Chinese feature can be turned off.

It is now on my "big screen" via PC. :)

Enjoy if you like a good, old time movie.

This movie reminds me of the Italian westerns that were popular in that period, the first 15 minutes were guys looking tuff, mean, nothing said, no action, buzzing fly. I think there is a reason nobody remembers this movie and I love old movies. True I did not watch it enough to say one way or the other but its a feeling you get when a movie starts, I have found I am seldom wrong.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it.

Yes the story unfolds as was done in that period, but it works with the subject being the Yakuza.

The scene where Robert Mitchum cuts off his finger is a credit to his acting. He could cry or perspire on cue.

There is lots of talent in the movie of stars who will blossom later.

I Say 📢

Give Yakuza (1974) a chance.

Lots of good movies were buried too long. Why I do not know.

But John Wayne, "The High and the Mighty" was withheld by BATJAC while everything else had been released.

Sometimes it is also a unique ownership problem that keeps a film buried.

I've seen THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY offered on TCM several times.

It is now the source of every airplane disaster movie ever made. However, none of them have a score like Dimitri Tiomkin wrote. He is one of the great movie composers.
