im just asking whats everyone feelings on getting it done? did it hurt much?
how long was your personal healing time? how does it feel without them hanging down there?
i know everyone has there own healing process and it has different effects on different people...

Congrats! When you get there, I hope you enjoy being a eunuch just as much as I do.
Did it hurt? Um... Yes, DUH! You're getting your balls cut off. I was very stiff and sore the first couple days and after that each day it got better until about a week later when I was able to move about normally but consciously aware of what had happened to my body. I'd say it took 7 days for me to function basically normal, and probably a good 6 months to completely heal from start to finish, including everything inside.
How does it feel? Difficult to explain. A bit weird for the first month or so, then after a while it's just how your body is. I personally don't remember what it is like to have balls.

I think the pain level differs from person to person. I, myself, did not experience any pain at all. Just a little tenderness around the stitches when I applied the ointment. I did not even use ice packs. So I don't think anybody can actually predict if you will experience any pain.
I think if you have a professional doctor performing the procedure, you should not experience any real pain. If you make use of a cutter...who knows.
Perhaps a good estimation will be to eventually take the averages of all the posts in this thread. If more people experienced pain, then there might be a chance that you might experience some pain. Why don't you put up a voting pole?

no way would i ever go to a cutter...iv seen a counselor and few physchs to make sure
im all sane...
and yea thats why i thought id ask...iv got a fairly high pain threshold...did you take any painkillers
or anything for it afterwards?
and i have to ask...with erections do they just slowly dissapear iv read alot online about castration and the effects and it varies so much person to person...some people still have normal sex lives without hormones and some need hormones....
same goes for pain...some people it takes months to recover and others they dnt even realise its been done :/

Well I went to a cutter and I wish he had known better how to numb the area. As far as pain afterwards I had little pain and never took anything for pain. I healed without any problems but due to the need to act like all was normal I never had time to lie around and relax. I did have drainage a little longer than if I had rested but back to my part time job on Tuesday after being cut the previous Saturday and resuming my full time job on Friday.
I still can become erect and have dry orgasms years after and never having used any HRT. You will not know where this path will lead you until you are on it.

It varies from man to man who gets it done. If I were you I'd plan at least a week off of work, especially if they take them out through your groin and not through your scrotum. I didn't bruise a lot, some guys do, some guys don't. I did swell a bit and it looked like I still had testicles for a couple weeks after.
You say you're going to return to work in 3 days... bad idea. I was no where near ready to return to work by then. Perhaps in 5 days, but not 3. I was moving VERY slowly on day 2, having trouble climbing stairs, walking very slowly. Day 5 I was walking around without much trouble but was still very sore.
Of course, you might have a different result.

everyone i talk to seams to have a different story on pain...i guess im just going to have to wait and see...
thank you all for your input it has helped heaps! its made me more excited

Well do take it easy, no heavy lifting, and all that other warning stuff! Take care of yourself.

Mine were removed through the scrotum and I never experienced any pain at all. They were removed on a Saturday afternoon and I had an overnight stay in the Strathfield Private Hospital and was discharged at midday the next day. My daughter picked me up and drove me home. No sooner had I arrived home than I got in my car, a manual transmission model and drove to the shops. I walked totally normally with no problems. I had taken 2 weeks' leave on my urologist's advice, but the way I felt, I could have gone back to work on the Monday.
The only problem that I had was the fact that my incision was sewn up with self dissolving stitches which my body tends to dissolve too fast and so the incision opened up a little, but not enough to cause any problems.
Good luck with this surgery and the ones to follow.
