I have not posted in years but browse EA often. In September my urologist noted that my testosterone level was way below what it should be. I thought this may be the case since one testicle had been injured in an accident and had a bad infection that shrunk it down to almost nothing. The other one had a spermatocele cyst on it and the testicle has shrunk some also. He said I need testosterone injections every 3 week from now on I guess because of a lot of problems low T can have that he noted.

I have had 2 injections so far and don't feel any different from it. The only difference is that now the remaining testicle is shrinking fast and the spermatocele cyst has gone away after being there for years. This is good because it hurt if I sat on it wrong. I did some research and know why all this is happening and don't need to elaborate on that. I just wanted to comment on this because I think it is cool how my remaining testicle is now shrinking away making me almost a eunuch. Best regards to all.

I had a similar thing happen to me. Lost one testicle to cancer, the other just started shrinking. I went on T-replacement therapy, which actually did me some good. The remaining teste shriveled away, and I have not seen or felt it in months.

But there's more to my story... Along with the T-replacement, I developed prostate cancer. The T was stopped, and in no time, my level was in the cellar. All the nasty effects of low T came back with a vengeance. To make a long story short, I had the cancer treated by a cryogenic process a week ago. As I sit here today, embracing my temporary catheter, I am wondering what to do. The doc says I am cured, and if my PSA stays low, I can go back on low dose T. At this moment I am torn. We'll see how I feelafter the cath comes out in two weeks. The last year battling the cancer was not fun at all with two biopsys, an MRI. several blood tests, finger pokes, and the like. The surgery was actually simple compared to the saturation biopsy, but in the end, nothing will be as it was before.

Several years ago I had one of those unpleasant prostrate biopsy tests since they found a small lump down there. It turned out negative but the process was not fun. My knees wore completely out and over the last 9 months I have had two complete knee replacement surgeries that has been wonderful. I can walk with out pain now. I asked the doctor about the shrinking testicles and he said, "At your age what are you going to do with them anyway?" I think he is right.
