This is my first post although I've been reading the archives for a number of years. It's a subject that has interested me for a long time.

I'm middle-aged, married with grown children. I've seen a gender therapist a number of times and she is absolutely convinced that I'm TS, although I'm not so sure. It does explain a number of things I've always wondered about, but still. To me, it's more like I'm straight and anchored there on a rope that allows me move around a bit on the sex chart. That seems to depend on my T level. I self inject T-cypionate and find I feel best when I keep my T level a little on the low side. Too much and I tend to get grouchy, and too little the same thing can happen, plus I just feel tired. Right now I'm in the mid-200s by the way I feel, but I'd like to let it get just slightly lower. I like having a greatly reduced sex drive.

I hope I can provide helpful comments to other members on this site from time to time. I'll try hard to always be polite.

Although clearly you have been welcome as a lurker for some time. Like you I have spent a life time in gender confusion and I am definitely at my best with very low or next to no T. Whenever my T Levels go up my gender/genital dysphoria becomes intense. At my lows I could care less and I am happy. My therapist who is transgender said means I am not really a true transgender. It has much more to do with hatred of my male bits.

Complicated! But the archive has all sorts and you are most welcome in your transition from lurker to named member. I have a weird sense of humour!

Thanks for the welcome, jcat. Like you, I discovered my so-called gender dysphoria seemed to be worse when my T levels were high. Since lowering my T level, I actually feel more manly than I have in a long time. That seems odd, doesn't it, and not the way it should work.

I was introduced to a gender therapist who is herslf transgender and it was very helpful. I have reached a place of calm and low T makes feel gender neutral or indifferent. I have feminused my body quite a lot over the years, it has been quite a journey. Today, I am in a good place where apart from being uncomfortable about what is left of my male bits I no longer feel compelled to do anything and I am truly content

Very witty! She is quite well known in the UK and specialises in children. Not sure where I come in to that! Anyway, it has been well worth the cost and helped me to understand so many things that have tormented me since childhood. (long story).

I would advise anyone to get objective professional help.

In this therapists case it helps that she has been on the same journey as well as her professional skill.

I also had an appointment with a transgender gender therapist. But my regular therapist is, as far as I know, a CIS female.
