Pele is awake

Pele the goddess of Kilauea an active Volcano on the big island of Hawaii is awake.
For those of you who have been following this story yes its on the move, and its heading for the little town of Pahoa which serves many communities in the area including the one I live in. If you have been following the news its heading for hwy 130. So what does this mean? it is the main road out of the area, or should I say the only road out of the area. Now there is the coast road but much of it is one lane so we will have another way out if Pele decides to consume Pahoa.
There is a great web site called Big Island Video News that gives a daily of how fast and where the lava is, also a great must see meeting with this gal that nails it, you will know the one I am talking about a Hawaiian woman with a blue dress.
Now as for me, the lava is going in a north, northeast direction I live well south of there so I am not in danger of having the lava flow over me although if the flow goes over 130 above 137 it will make getting in and out of the area very hard. It is not time yet to pack in supplies or get the batteries for the solar panels and go totally off the grid, but in a few weeks this might be an option.
I know I have been making light of the situation however it is very serious and real, I will do what I need to do to stay safe, remember that this volcano has been erupting for 31 years and people still build houses and live here. Kilauea is in fact the most active volcano in the world the good thing is that she moves slow and the lava flows out not like an explosion but oozes out.
So to all my friends on the main land and around the world I am safe the weather is great, the view is fantastic, (I am taking care of a friends house, actually there dogs and cats) and from the porch on a clear day you can see Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa clouds and fog usually prevent that view.
This is a most incredible island, it is truly alive and this has been a fun filled summer for sure.
