how to deal with depression? HELP PLEASE!

I need some help dealing with depression here. My boyfriend seems to be recovering fine, but he seems to be losing his interest in life. He has been crying a lot lately because of the accident that caused his penile fracture. He still has a tremedous fear of becoming impotent and the doctor told him that he, even with rehabilitation, may no recover fully. For me, its despairing seeing him like this. He has not returned to work yet, as they told him to allow the tissue in the penis to recover. He has lost a lot of the things that make him happy lately. He has been skipping meals, he doesnot even play videogames anymore. A few days ago, I surprised him checking ways to commit suicide. Even when he admited that the idea was present, he has not the courage to do that. Last night we checked his T levels and are below normal, enough to cause weak erections. He told me that he doesnot care about sex anymore, and nothing seems to matter now. He, being a doctor and all, has access to medications that could potentially be of use to commit euthanasia or suicide. He sleeps a lot, and he doesnot want to see a councelor nor a psychiatrist.
I saved a lot of money and bought him a PS4 and a WII U...which he has not even opened yet. Please, my friends, I need some help. To make things worse, SSRI medications seem to havo no effect on him.
Thank you friends, As soon as I have more intel I will post it. Thanks, from the bottom of my heart.

You need a professional -
Perhaps his doctor can guide you to one in your area.
Perhaps a clergyman.
Perhaps there is an employee assistance program at work?
Perhaps a LGBT organization or even public health department in the area.
And talk to him, tell him that he is more than simply an injury like that.

Dave has it right again. You and your boyfriend need more help than you can get from posts on a forum such as this. DO NOT DELAY, time is not your friend in this instance. We are on your side but you need more urgent assistance than we can give. Wishing you well, --FLO--

Take him to the hospital and lay all of this before them. He needs to be in-patient treatment - now! He is on a fast-track to being dead.

Hi!
I agree with Kristoff, please stay away from religious help, most clergy haven't got a clue when it comes to depression, in fact they will probably increase the depression with their judgemental approach to it.
I wish you all the best but do get professional help.
From someone who suffers clinical depression.
Let us know how you go.
Thinking of you.

I will remember you in my prayers.
Please convince your boyfriend to seek professional help and counselling.
Penile fracture's prognosis depends on the severity of the injury and how quickly the person seek medical treatment. The complication rate for a person that had medical treatment for penile fracture is rather small...around 10%. The chance is good that all will be well. Remember, it is the doctor's duty to provide all possible complications to a patient, but most of the time things turn out well. Have a little faith and keep hope.
Blessings to you
Y

Just to hope that you already been to professional medical help by now.
These things are dangerous to delay.
