I think it was from a recommendation of someone here that I downloaded a free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. That was great for a long time. A couple of weeks ago it sort of magically changed one day to a different screen, but still seemed to work. Generally I have not had any issues for months. A couple of days ago I kept getting this screen that Malwarebytes had blocked an attempt to get into my computer. After a few times, I shut off my computer and let it sit for most of the day. Since then I have not seen the screen of other computers trying to access mine. However, a day or two later when I ran a scan I had like 22 infections which Malwarebytes removed. Two days later I started getting notices that my free trial period was ending and do I want to pay?

Anyone have any comments?

I have it on every PC I run. Sometimes, it does get over-excited by incoming things, but better safe than sorry. You can set the notification time (or not) for that message in the prefs in the full paid version. It's also a lifetime membership.
