This is a 2006 movie that a friend handed me and said watch it you will like it. He was right if you have not seen this movie get a copy on DVD and enjoy. It got 7.5 out of 10 I would give it a 9.

I agree with you, that "The Illusionist" is a great movie, and it is a movie that you can watch AGAIN and still catch new little bits that make the whole story clearer. I especially love that next to last scene, where the former Chief Inspector Of Police (excellently played by Paul Giamatti) is running and chasing The Illusionist in the train station, and as the train is pulling away, as the Chief Inspector realizes that The Illusionist has gotten away, then you see little snippets of so many different scenes and you need to watch closely, and every one of the "inexplicable" things, all the unbelievable coincidences, everything is explained in that ten to twenty seconds.
I hope I did not "spoil" anything, I think I have not "given it away" to anyone who has not yet seen the movie.
I seriously think I need to OFFER THIS WARNING to anyone who is looking for movies like "The Illusionist," because at about the same time, another movie of the same vein was release, called "The Prestige," IT SUCKED! Don't be mislead by the "star studded cast" with Michael Caine (portrays the "ingeneur") and Tom Skerritt (portrays Nicola Tesla), and some other people portray two rival magicians, who both look so much alike and left me wondering who I was seeing, and then to make everything incomprehensible you find out that one magician has a double, the other has.... Well I don't want to spoil it, but the movie SUCKED!
So, just remember, "The Illusionist," was a GREAT MOVIE, and "The Prestige," well for me at least it sucked!

I agree, I am ready to watch it again and I watched it yesterday, yes it was that good and like the Deacon said, the second time through will give you better insight to the movie.
