The Cat Has Been Ill
Since early this year I have been ill with severe kidney, liver, abdominal and testicular pain. Having had lots of the usual tests done they show nothing unusual other than low T.
Last week I got some lab tests done and I have a raised cancer marker indicating tumour growth.
It could be anywhere as I am prone to cysts and have them all over the place in my organs. That makes it hard harder to diagnose.
The marker level is double what it should be, but lower than the panic button stage where they send the men in white coats.
I am seeing doctors and hope to have a diagnosis soon.
The pain levels have been getting are intense and I am getting nausea and weakness.
Being a Google rat I have a fair idea what is going on. I don't want to second guess the doctors. I am hoping that whatever it is the tumour is at very early stages and it can all be treated quickly.
Unfortunately there is so much cancer on both sides of my family it is a little bit worrying.
I share this because I have many friends here and if I fall off the radar it is because I am ill and not because I have gone off to do something insane with a scalpel. I have had so much support and help from EA over the years it seems wrong not to tell my family.
I look forward to all the well wishes and stroking, as you know us cats like to be stroked!!
PS I ain't lost my sense of humour yet!

Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN says that the diabetes drug Metformin has powerful anti cancer effects.
http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/health ... s.cnn.html
http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/05/health/di ... index.html
The Life Extension Foundation recommends it for non-diabetics because it reduces inflammatory cytokines. I think that most pain is caused by inflammation. You might want to ask your doctors to put you on metformin
I think that you should take at least three grams of vitamin C (increase the dose slowly to avoid diarrhea) plus 25,000 units of vitamin A. A dose of more than 25,000 units of vitamin A can be toxic but I think that is only in people who consume little vitamin C. I find that I have to take at least 100,000 units to feel my best. I have reduced the dose dozens of times and each time I got worse.

Hi Curious_guy, that is a fascinating article and I will read it agin properly and digest it. At this stage I don't know where the tumour is as I have cysts all over the place and one of them(hopefully just the one) is turning nasty, why it should want to kill me after I have housed it all theses years I do not know....gratitude eh! I am willing to look at anything that might help. Much appreciated.

I missed you. Was the cancer test that your doctors are worried about the CEA test by Abbott? I had a CEA of 16.3 where less than 5 was normal almost 11 years ago.

I have a few issues, kidney, liver, stomach. So it is all a big mix at the moment. I have a tumour somewhere and they can't find it. In the meantime I am in a lot of pain. I have had numerous scans and tests. and so it goes on. Glad someone has missed me here!! Thanks.

Some time ago I read a few studies and articles which said Apricot Seeds and Raw Almonds contain a phyto-chemical that is very effective at shrinking and eiliminating some forms of tumors.
The apricot seeds contain a lot of this chemical 3-4 of them a day (one with each meal) is enough to have an effect. But you will need pliers or a vice or something to crack open the apricot pits to get the seed out.
Raw almonds contain a lot less of this chemical, you have to eat 20 to 30 of them a day to get the same effect.
They have to be fresh/raw though -- cooking will break down the chemical, as will pasturization, and some forms of "purification" (such as bleaching or washing in hydrogen peroxide).
Obviously before you'd try any of the above you'd want to research it. I wish I could remember where I read about this stuff. I'm sure if you Google it you could find more info.
Good luck!

Re: The Cat Has Been Ill
Hi Prudence, A friend of mine with bile duct cancer chewed ground up apricot kernals for 7 years before he died. I am fairly sure that they helped him stay alive and fight a good fight for many years. The doctors gave him months to live and he survived 7 years.
Almonds are also good, they are also good for testosterone production!
I have H Pylori in my stomach and the pain in my liver and the cancer marker from there is not a good sign. Still no sign of a tumour , just a lot of discomfort and intense pain.

Re: The Cat Has Been Ill
I am still alive! Really struggling with chronic pain and no nearer to a full diagnosis. Just pain and lots of it. So I have not had much inclination to look at the forum of late.
