Dogs pig out on new treat made from everything but the oink

When it comes to making dog treats, Miles Handy says all parts of the pig are considered. All parts. Even private parts.
Its the tenderest part of the male anatomy, said Handy, 30, of one of his products aptly named Pork Tenderloin.
The delicacy consists of two 18-inch-long, hickory-smoked pig penises twisted together.
Pig penises? Eighteen inches? If I could, Id sell them by the inch, said Handy with a grin. The Tenderloins retail for $2.99.
The bottom line is that dogs love them, said handy, founder of Oink Oink Inc., the Detroit company that makes the snacks. Oinkers products can be found in virtually every pet store in the country, he claims, including Meijers and Pet Supply Plus. Last year, sales topped $7 million.
In addition to pig privates, Handy uses pig hearts, pig feet and pig ears. The items are processed, smoked and packaged in his factory on Detroits far west side.
The treats are easier to digest than rawhide and are thus healthier for your dog. More importantly, no preservatives or chemicals are used,
The treat is in keeping with his no waste philosophy. We use everything but the oink, said Handy.
