Unless someone has a true need to know, why tell them anything? If you do something to actually damage the testicles, one might have to deal with a doctor for removal or other treatment. Best to feign ignorance then, I think. Some of the side-effects of castration, chemical or physical, can become an issue for some. Depending on how you arrived at that spot, a doctor might wish to treat with testosterone after testing. Again, it is an issue of need to know, I think, as well as asserting one's self-determination even if at odds with a doctor's advice.

I know nothing about chemical castration and I am responding to your concern of family and friends. Some people are very upfront about their status. I, on the other hand, have told very few. My friends and family did not know what was going on in my pants before so I felt no need to share I was a eunuch. I have certainly gone through physical changes but so gradually that folks I am around day to day have not noticed. Or have been kind and said nothing. My fallback excuse is to remind them of my physical abuse and say I do not think things are functioning as they once did.

I'd like to try a trial run for 6 months to see how it goes. I live in the UK. How much does it cost a chemical castration for this period? I can't afford the most expensive meds but I don't want to buy the cheapest either.

My thinking...don't ask, don't tell.
