This last episode of "Bitten" (http://www.syfy.com/now/bitten) on the SyFy channel (Season-1, Episode-8) showed a burdizzo castration of one of the 'mutt' werewolves.

Of course no genitals were shown, but the implement and actions were. I thought the screaming was a bit over-the-top . . .

Only in the pretend world. Remember, if the writers wanted the testicles to heal, the healing would happen. If the writers want the testicles and the werewolf to suffer or whatever (die?) then it will happen.

It's like bobby's dream on Dallas,

or Isaiah Washington's return to Grey's Anatomy,

or the miraculous recoveries that occur on daytime dramas and other soap operas.

Whatever is convenient for the writers becomes their new facts. . .

Like Dave said; who knows.

I just like the idea that the writers are getting bold enough to show something like that in a prime-time episode.

Supposedly in this werewolf world, castrating a 'werewolf', while human, does permanent damage . . . They also pull their canines to kill them.
