According to what I have been able to find in the medical literature, about half of men who have lost their penis and/or testicles to accident or disease continue to have phantom feeling in the parts that no longer exist. About a quarter of men who have involuntarily lost their testicles sense pain in parts that they no longer have.

I am interested in those whose penis and/or testicles have been removed for voluntary reasons.

For any members here who are willing to provide data on the subject, I would like answers to three questions:

1) What parts (penis and/or testicles) were removed voluntarily?

2) After the removal have you felt any phantom sensations or pain? What kind?

3) What HRT (or lack thereof) are you using?

1. Simple bilateral orchiectomy

2. Not really any usual sensation but you have to know that prior to surgery the testicles were basically dead and the only type of pain or sensation was in the spermatic cord on the right side. That pain is now gone.

3. Androgel 1%, which I just found out the Abbot is discontinuing, soon only the 1.6% will be sold.

Bilat orchie and T cypionate 200 1-2 weekly.

No pain, but very occasional mild sensation of their fictitious presence. Not a problem.

I guess the nerves are still connected to what passes for a brain where they existed on the map.

Maybe the map doesn't update exactly.

Does the time my ex-wife sneezed while performing fellatio count as phantom pain?

1.Bilateral orchiectomy and scrotectomy.

2. No real pain just the odd stab and a strange sensation every now and then I also get an itch in my scrotum which is very strange as it was removed?

3. I use Testim gel but I may try some other gels as I have posted before its great stuff but it stays sticky for hours:(

When I had my stump removed, I had a phantom stump for about 10 days. I could actually feel my stump in my body. Touching my nipples even made it twitch, but when I reach down there, there is nothing. It's twitching even caused physical pain on my sutures. It's really a weird feeling.

Try Axiron, it is relatively new on the market, is applied in the armpits and dries in seconds, I have been on this for about 8 months and it is great

Bilateral Orchiectomy. Then three years later had the scrotum removed. I do have occasional bouts of pain like I still had my testes, mostly on one side. Have not mentioned it to the Dr. but will when I see him in July. I use AndroGel 1.62 (the new one and someone said that they would not be making the 1.0 anymore.) I have been on Testim also but wasted a lot since it only comes in 5 gm packs. I prefer the pump. Dr. did prescribe Fortesta but I did not get the results he wanted so he put me back on Androgel. Because my readings were low last time (less than 200) he wants me to double my dose of Androgel which would put it back to a little less than 50 mg a day> To me that is too high so will probably do it only long enough to get the reading up (about 2 weeks) and after my lab work, drop it back to the 22.5 mg Will see ho things go. I am using up my 1.0 supply now at 2 squirts a day equaling 25mg. I have when I feel exceptionally tired, applied three squirts and that helps. Summertime when mowing, I feel a need for more. Think I will hire the mowing done. Oddly enough, a doctor friend told me that at my age (76) I could do without the testosterone completely if I wanted to. Do not want to gain weight.
