AKIRA (from 1988, animated Japanese manga)

I found AKIRA in one of the "on demand" sections. I'd seen in years ago and wanted to see it again.

It is five stars of sic-fi animation. A most amazing story.

As the premise goes, the military tried a weapon of immense power and they could not control it. THe blast triggered a world war and left Tokyo in ruins. The weapon's name was AKIRA.

Thirty years later enter New-Tokyo and a cult of Akira, the resistance, fighting teenage punk biker gangs, a mad scientist, crooked government, and three children with mental powers. Mix well.

The animation is dense, more frames per second and more detail, Thousands of colors and detail. This is a standard in animated movies barely seen today.

The story that never stops having twists and turns.

Be warned, it is lurid, bloody, violent and does't spare blood. This AIN'T the IRON GIANT, THE LAST AIRBENDER, or FRANKENWEENIE, or a nice Disney film… the level of violence is for adults. The scares are adult in nature.
