Christmas Gifts - I won

I figured age 5 years & 4 months was old enough for a 20" bike without training wheels.

My little angel received this from me:

Unable to get his leg up over it, he mounted it by approaching it from the back, over the back tire.

Had it not been for uncle #2 grabbing the rear wheel, we could well have lost the Christmas tree!

His sixteen year old uncle commented, "Well, so much for his nuts..."

Somehow, I don't think that decorative 1/4" padding on the top bar is going to be of much help.

Once again, in the battle that is Christmas, I won.:D

Heheh. I'm not quite positive that mashed nuts is a fantastic gift.

That first encounter between nuts and bike is a milestone for every boy.

I remember mine well. Somehow more memorable than the first zipper encounter.

Somehow I missed both... I had a bicycle with step-through frame. And zipper, I do not remember properly using it.

This is the one time I am glad I have an older sister. She won a bike in a contest and our mother got them to give us one that was (at the time) too big for my sister, but she would grow into and could use for quite some time. (They wanted to give her one that she would have been too big for in less than a year.) Mother also made sure to get it in yellow so there would be no problem of "that's a girly color" when it came time for me to ride it. It also made getting on it that much easier. No smashed gonads for me, thankyouverymuch!
