My son found this little test, we both took it twice and the questions are different each time you take it.

Enjoy

Lexington, Kentucky is somewhat close to Central Ohio. Interesting test and results.

I retook the test and I really thought about how I say words instead of how I think they should be pronounced. This time they had me in Akron, Ohio and second place was Louisville, Kentucky. Pretty close both times.

The three cities it gave me were spread between eastern Nebraska and central Illinois. Iowa, where I grew up, is in the middle, and I've spent just over half my life in Illinois, so I'd say it was pretty accurate.

It said: Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia

but I can haul ti back to Pittsburgh with two answers --

I call carbonated drinks Soda but everyone around me calls them "pop" …

Also, I don't use "yunz" as a collective pronoun or for anything else.

Back in college I had a Drama student as a roommate my first semester in the dorms and they had language classes to "unlearn" dialects and relearn proper speech. I heard all of the colloquialisms and still recognize them. I had to unlearn "and at" and unlearn "needs washing" while my Aunt who lived on Manhattan would say "Needs Warshed.

“Nytimes not responding due to a long running script.” Sounds about right for a gotdanged liberal rag full of gobbledegook which can easily be replaced by the right thinking Arlen Advisor.

It finally coughed up that I was like Fresno, Stockton and Modesto. Well slap your grandma and call me foreclosed.

Back in university days, I popped in to see a prof. There was a grad student there. After talking for a bit, he had me pegged to either Idaho or Montana. I was impressed. That was his hobby.

Not an American, took it anyways. It pegged me as Seattle or Tacoma, which is surprisingly close. Then again, it also suggested Honolulu, which kind of throws me.

It placed me in Modesto, California – about half way between the town where I was born and spent my first 18 years and the town where I taught for 30 years before I retired. A little closer to the town where I taught. Where I've lived for the 15 years since I retired is a slightly lighter shade of red. There's even a small dot of the dark red (in a sea of orange) for the town where I grew up.
