A survey of the US Patent Office between 1856 & 1919 showed 35 anti-masturbation devices for horses, and 14 for boys. (1974, Mountjoy, P.T. Some early attempts to modify penile erection in horse and human: An historical analysis. The Psychological Record, V24, pp 191-308.) Included are drawings from the patents. It was all part of the anti-masturbation craze that began with Tissot.

Mike Rowe of DIRTY JOBS once had his hands on a device that collects horse semen for artificial impregnation. Although Discovery Channel blurred it out in action it's not to hard to imagine what it looked like.

A numer of years ago, my brother had a white stallion he wanted to breed and left it in the corral with a mare overnight. Now this was in a county park and you could see the corral from the main road through the park...

About ten or twelve years ago a neighbor of mine adopted 8 donkeys and it was a cute herd. In my neighborhood there are big pets.

Now she has about ten donkeys - still cute and adorable to look at -- 9 females and 1 gelding.
