Did You Know....

In light of the recent discussions on this board, and the distress of some of the regulars, I am going to try to be a little more verbose about my feelings, so here goes...

Every time I log into the EA, which I try to do several times a day, I find on the opening screen a small one liner entitled "Did You Know..." followed by a bit of wisdom about eunuchs. Sometimes it is obviously tongue in cheek, other times absoutely true and profound. I don't know who changes these little tidbits every day, or even several times a day it seems sometimes, but I wanted whoever it is to know that I for one enjoy these little comments., Sometimes I get a laugh, sometimes I nod knowingly, but always they remind me what it is about this board that I love. Bboy, Paolo, Talula, I salute you! You are three really awesome folks!

Proving once again that "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds....Emerson." And curmudgeons.

IS: Castrating a Rooster results in a Capon which are rather tasty.

Should be: Castrating a Rooster results in a Capon, which is rather tasty.

OR: Castrating Roosters results in Capons, which are rather tasty.

Thanks Charlieje.

It means a lot to us to hear you say that. Some nights we actually lose sleep over scheming up ways to make this site better.

Unfortunately, there are so many pieces to the archive the "Do you know" section often times gets overlooked by us. I just added some more to it.

To Andrew (tongue in cheek).

Damn you! Damn you! It's not my fault! My grammer checker is off line and I thought the capon line looked ok.

You bring up an interesting point, Andrew.

I have slaughtered my share of roosters in my day, then plucked the feathers off, cleaned them and got them ready for the family Sunday dinner. But I have yet to see a pair of balls on a rooster.

I know what a capon is, but the question is, HOW THE H*** DO YOU CASTRATE A ROOSTER? ❓ ❓ 😲 😲

I did a GOOGLE search, found the answer, and have posted it as a new thread. Enjoy.

Charlie,

I also enjoy the "did you know" section

I do believe that to castrate a rooster you need to cut them out of the back about even with the flight fathers. Oh yes, I too have butchered my share of roosters and hens for Sunday dinner.
