Shaun Tougher on eunuchs

The interviewer is clearly amateur and the sound quality is poor, but it is a chance to see one of the experts on Byzantine eunuchs. Tougher has written a number of academic articles on the subject and a book, The Eunuch in Byzantine History and Society. He also teaches a university course on eunuchs in antiquity and organized an entire international conference on the subject, about half of the papers of which were published as Eunuchs in Antiquity and Beyond. (The other papers were either not ready for publication in the volume or were published elsewhere.)

Shaun joined with Kristoff and me for a full session on eunuchs at the last WPATH conference in Atlanta. He has tremendous breadth of knowledge about the subject.
