Ok...i admit...i'm a little confused and a novice to bulletin boards. I've always considered myself computer literate...but i'm lost... HELP please!
Am i correct at least this far?:
a FORUM is a general category for discussions containing THREADS that pertain to the FORUM topic
a THREAD is an individual sub-topic within the context of the FORUM that individuals can POST comments to
If i'm ok that far...then who can start a FORUM?? the moderators of the site/board....or individuals?
If individuals, then how does a FORUM get created/started?
I've been kicked off a THREAD and told to take it to another FORUM, but can't find the referenced FORUM. Is there a directory of FORUMS? I can't find one.
Trying to follow by the rules that have obviously been in place for years. Sure wish i had known about EA a long time ago. This is great.
This site is fantastic...and My Mistress and i are looking forward to being contributing members for many years.
Thanks for your help,
john

You can create threads in a forum, but only an admin can set up a forum, which is rare. Usually I do it. We just recently added, deleted, and reorganized several forums, after discussed and decided by the board that runs the place, which by the way needs some new members. Join the yearly MoM and sit in the board meeting.

When you post to a thread off topic you'll be asked to start a new thread, or find one that is on topic. That might be in the forum you are in, or a different forum. Staying on topic is a good thing - they get off topic on occasion. The index of forums is the page you have to click on a thread from.
This is the "index" of forums. http://www.eunuch.org/forums/forum.php

To register a thread is the same thing as starting one.
Blogs are usually personal but public journals. Sometimes they are topical. Here you can start one just as you have already. You can add to it as you wish when you wish. Assuming you have set your blog preferences to allow it, people can post comments in response to your blog entries.
