As the message boards slowly die off...

...I would make a political comment, but I won't have to if you "tune in" your ESP to 'feel', you will know what I am thinking.
MacWolfie has put the question to me in P.M., where can I go to gripe? And I must answer, I don't know, I guess anywhere but here.
So now, without further adieu, let us discuss how much we miss bitching at each other over politics and how much Paolo and River miss taking that 'extra' blood pressure pill trying to keep us from figuratively beating the bloody hell out of each other over... dare I say it? P-O-L-I-T-I-C-S
Ah yes, it is a kinder and gentler place, and I miss a good, robust discussion with all of you.
In addition, If ANYBODY knows of a good place that we can go to KICK SOME POLITICAL ASS, please, by all means, post the web site here. WE can get organized in P.M. and go there together, using our same post names as we do here, and that way, we will know who we are.
So, if anyone has any ideas, post the site, let us get organized in P.M. and let us get going...
River and anybody else who is a moderator, come if you want. It might be instructive... or NOT!

Do I know, am I familiar with, and do I understand, the wisdom of not baiting the take? Perhaps I am unsure...
In a "confidential" group setting, one person remarked to me, as I recall, "You have really been around the block." I wonder what that person meant in saying that.
In my going around the block, I came upon the absurd notion that political science is the science of the nature of public policy; and, that, without public policy and without political science, humans cannot form a social structure having any form of decency whatsoever. Alas, absurd notions are not necessarily aspects of the surd. Or, are they?
In my learning-about-public-policy days, in the 1960s, I heard a chant. How did it go? Something like, "Hell? No! I won't go."
What was that chant about? Perhaps I do not remember. Alas, what I do remember, remember rightly or wrongly or whatever, seems to rule out my voting in the above Poll.
Getting old and feeble-minded is interesting. Is this posting a vote? If I did not comment, would my not commenting be a vote? What if the way I am getting old and feeble-minded is of a mistaken understanding of my life, perhaps because I am too old and feeble-minded to realize that I am not too old or all that feeble minded after all?

I would not participate in political forums on EA. Sure, I have strong opinions but go to political sites when I want to discuss politics or blow off steam. Nothing I would say here would change anyone's opinion and nothing anyone else would say would change my opinion on issues we would disagree on. And if we agree, it's pointless because then we're merely preaching to the choir. I'm here to learn more about life, what makes people tick and meet interesting people. Political discussions on a site like this can too easily become counter productive. Discussion can turn in to arguments, degrade to dislike and drive people apart. JMHO.

So could you PLEASE tell us all where to go? Please?
...that is, for political discussions...

If they had teeth, they'd bite...
The internet has three major parts -- porn, Twitter, and politics.
Everything else is tiny by comparison.
Most of the big political blogs have comments threads. I start with these because I'm a Democrat, a progressive, and a liberal:
DAILY KOS
AMERIBLOG
CROOKS AND LIARS
HUFFINGTON POST (has a really big website with both countries and cities)
FIREDOGLAKE
TPM (Talking Points Memo)
Roll Call
Politico
The Daily Beast (has comments but I've never read them)
You can also go to
CNN
NBC News
Washington Post (has several political columns that have comment strings too)
Christian Science Monitor
There are Conservative and Republican websites (I normally don't follow them)
Red State
Drudge Report (has extensive lists of newspapers, websites, commentators, opinion writers at the bottom of its listings)
There are lots more but I don't usually go them. Scroll to the bottom of those sites or look at the sidebars for lists of other political sites.
Beyond that my links are science, space, writing, publishers, my website for stories, book reviews, non-politcal stuff like that.

If I say what sites I frequent I may as well involve myself in political discussions. I'd rather make friends here, not get folks pissed off. And as I said in my earlier post in this thread, you're not going to change my opinion and I'm not going to change yours. I'd rather leave it right there.

I am so glad you clarified that point,
I went to a political site that Moi and the person who is no longer allowed here, it had about 50 topics where each thread was filled with people posting the same thing over and over, like screaming it over and over was a win, and if that did not work call the person you disagree with you a dumb ass, or other less savory names. I found the site less then appealing it was to big, to loud, to insulting, to single sited, and nobody hearing anything but themselves.
I went, I saw, I posted, I left, and I am now so happy.
Politics here is dead gone never to return, as for other sites, why?

Oooooh, I love this thread
I'd say more but, at the moment, I have a ferocious migraine registering about 8.7 on the Richter scale.

Me too. But mine is more of a body migraine. Like life support systems are running on minimal.
Happens with Spring and Autumn weather change and I guess we are in one or the other, huh. Oy.
Yes, or course is the correct answer.
