No mention of eunuchs though. Just ambiguous genitalia or 'inbetween sexes'.

Germany joins Australia as the only countries that allow parents to skip a definite gender on a birth certificate. Newborns can be labeled 'blank' instead of male or female, starting in November.

Looking at nature, it does what it does, without regard to religion, social convention. Nature is not locked into anything and change is natural. Some creatures have both sexes. Some creatures change from one sex to the other during their life as a natural part of their process. So, who is to say that humans should be ONLY male or FEMALE. Humans that is who. Not nature. Were this to happen to me, and if I were given the opportunity to choose, once I had aged enough, and had ample knowledge and information, I would give serious consideration to not changing what nature gave me. But realistically, as a child, it would be a difficult if not impossible to make such a choice. Social pressures, self image, bullying, would eventually force one to choose the conventional, and then maybe later in life, discover that you made the wrong choice, or should have left it unchanged.

Leaving the individual to choose is certainly a nice idea, but at what age? Will living as a dual sexed person cause them great difficulties in their childhood? Can the surgery to change be better performed on a baby than on an older person. ? I certainly have more questions than opinions on this. It is an interesting development.
