Is anyone watching this show on Netflix? I was home with a nasty case of bronchitis and signed up for the free 30 days of Netflix. This is a really good show about an upper middle class young woman who is sentenced to 14 months in a minimum security prison. There is some comedy in the early episodes but it gets more serious as time goes on. The acting is superb, the storylines are all interesting and the characters are believable. One character is a transsexual and is played by a transsexual named Laverne Cox. Her back story is quite interesting. I highly recommend this show along with Netflix's House of Cards, a show about politics centering on Kevin Spacey's character who is the House Majority Whip.

Only 13 episodes ending with piper standing the methhead jebus freak laying on the ground.
I don't like television. It's the ultimate secret weapon. It turns the brain to jelly and imobilizes the body.

I"m not ready to go to NETFLIX and pay for anything. I pay more than enough for cable.
But I've heard good things about this series:
HEre's an interview with the transgendered star Laverne Cox --

A long interview on Melissa HArris Perry's weekend show on MSNBC that has the writer and three actresses.

That clip is the last 3 minutes of the story. If you look on Harris-Perry's video list on the right hand side of that page you can get "MORE VIDEO" and then the entire 8+ minutes of the cast is on her website.
I think this is the link to the whole interview. It's to a video pop out.

Dave, you can get 30 days for free. Its all streamed on your computer, commercial free. I tried it as I was stuck at home coughing and hacking all day. I really think you would like House of Cards as well.

Started "House of Cards" five of 13 episodes and my son won't turn it off. He isn't channel surfing, it must be interesting.

It's my understanding that this is based on a true story.
About a girl who really did carry her friends money filled
suitcase to wherever. Sort of a girly version of Midnight
Express.

The problem with this is NetFlix, I will not do any business with them ever again, there is nothing and I mean nothing they have that interests me.
Back to the show your talking about, sounds good.

Yes, there's a paperback, a hardcover, an audiobook, and a kindle version.
There also is a TV Series Tie In edition.

There's 232 customer reviews.
And in the Melissa Harris Perry interview I linked to above, the author is one of the guests on the show.
