Questions about Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Hi All,
I'm a 32 year old gay male considering castration because I feel like my testicles don't quite belong. However, I do not want to feminize, and I want to stay sexually active with the ability to get erections and cum. I know this means going on testosterone replacement therapy, but I've heard some mixed reviews about that. Some eunuchs say it's awesome, and that their sex drive/performance is just as good (if not better) than it was before, when they had balls. However, others say that even with TRT they have little sex drive and little ability to perform. Worse, I've heard of eunuchs who lose their motivation in general, become depressed, and even have issues with elevated red blood cell counts.
I was just wondering if y'all could share your knowledge and experiences with testosterone replacement. How well does it work for you, what are the side effects, and do you know of any long-term risks associated with it.
Thanks!

This is a classic case of "Your Mileage May Vary" (YMMV). One of the side effects of TRT or HRT (whichever, they're the same) that I particularly don't like is extensive body hair growth - a frequent side-effect. I was once smooth except for a tiny patch on the chest. Now I've got it everywhere except on the top of my head, but that was gone long ago. The sexual part is often, I think, more of a matter of desire and intent (and perhaps intensity). I can still get it up and get off when I want. The spontaneous stuff is rare, and he better be damned good looking, or I better be very horney. Most of the time, it doesn't matter, but while sexual, I have never been an "overly" sexual person - I just sound like that some times. OTOH, I am 59, I've had my times, it just isn't as important to me as it once was. I too felt like my bits didn't belong, but liked/wanted what they brought. That's called Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID). You've come to the right place to do research and ask questions. Welcome.

I've been on TRT for 2 years, first by injections every two weeks, and now have implanted pellets that last about 4 months, Testopel. I am feeling much better than I ever did with balls. Shortly after surgery, my T-level fell to below 100, I was a tired, grumpy old man with little interest in anything. I started TRT, and immediately things got better. As a side effect, the doc watches my PSA. I had a targeted biopsy last year, 22 needles, all clear. My PSA floats between 6 and 8, but not a problem with my prostrate. Another side effect is my body creates too many red blood cells. The risk is stroke. To control that, I donate blood every quarter. Helps both me and someone else. TRT has not turned me into a sex maniac. Rather it is quite pleasant. Erections are there when I want them, and nothing more. My wife tells me I am a new person, and she likes the results of my TRT. My next quest is to get the scrotum and scar tissue from my scrotal hematoma, a result of my ball extraction surgery removed.

My experience on TRT, without testicles, pretty much mirrors Kristoff's comments. I can still have and do enjoy sex when the opportunity is there; it's just that it is no longer all that important to me and I can now go for many months without desiring or needing it. I do not like the body hair growth caused by the TRT and I use a body hair trimmer regularly to help keep my hair under control.

Thanks, friends. It's very frustrating to me because I really want to be castrated, but I really don't want my life, personality, or appetite to change. I guess I just want to have my cake and eat it too. What a pain.

Hi life changes but I think for the better. I take a low dos of Testim gel, like the others my drive is now so much lower and all the unwanted erection and endless masturbation has stopped but I still get the urge sometimes and get erect and come but what does happen is I take longer and I get a couple of dry orgasms then one massive one which is better then anything before, I wouldn't go back.
Thanks

It is not just testosterone... Look up the effects it can cause on your liver and etc.

The only thing permanent in life is, change.
It is not unusual for our personality, appetite, sex likes, dislikes, need for sex, to change with age. (among other things).
Being human, we have a high capability to adapt.
Then again I question "wanting" to be castrated.
For me it was an overpowering urgent desperate NEED.
