'Under The Dome' Ratings
>>For an opening it was fun to watch but a bit thin as if they stretched the show with commercials.
>>I think the movie PACIFIC RIMM bought a ton of commercial time to run its 2:30 min brand spanking new trailer...
>>I liked the show and will watch a few episodes to see how it plays out.
>>AFter all, opening with a dead body being buried gets me hot and bothered and closing with the identity of the dead body maintains my hard on (Sorry, I get excited over dead things)

'Under The Dome' Ratings'

Millions tuned in to go "Under the Dome" on CBS Monday night. The new summer series, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, delivered big ratings for the network.
In total live viewers, "Under the Dome" pulled in 13.1 million. In the key 18-49 demographic, the series had a 3.2 rating.
King serves as an executive producer alongside Neal Baer, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, Jack Bender and Brian K. Vaughan. The producers have "such a clear vision of where this show is going. We're prepared for success," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler told the Associated Press, confidently even before the premiere. "Under the Dome" could return next summer and there might be a "winter cycle" as well, she said.
And Vaughan told The Huffington Post that they are prepared for much, much more. "We treat this as if we are writing the first season of an ongoing series, not a TV miniseries. So it will be up to the audience, and we hope they show up and want more, but we certainly do. We have really long-term plans for this," he said.
"Breaking Bad" star Dean Norris, who plays Big Jim on "Under the Dome," told The Huffington Post that he thinks the show will be able to keep that audience. "For a CBS show, it feels like a cable show. You end it and you're, 'Whoa, OK' ... You would want to get to the next episode. It's intense and the quality of actors they got are just great. These young kids are really, really good. So all of that feels like I'm doing a cable show. It is like the best of both worlds, even though on paper, it seems like completely opposite. Every script I get, I'm even more excited."

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
I watched it having discovered it roaming the guide just before it started. And was pondering uploading however I figured I'd be further beaten.
The pilot was fun and if they can hold a quality script, the series may be "good TV".
I plan to follow Dome, now that my flogging wounds over "Revolution" have healed up a bit.

Still
over Terra Nova
Pilot repeated Sunday
New episode Monday

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
I ignored the whole thing out of fear of being forevermore referred to as a ....
Dommey or Dome-ie or Dome Ass or some other derivative, derogatory, double-entente term...
If it turns out to be any good I will watch it on Net Flicks later WITHOUT the STUPID commercials.

Episode 2...
My that one girl can scream REAL LOUD!
And the secrets of the town are slowly being revealed by the increasingly desperate populace.
Let's see - there's that dead body from the first seconds of episode one, the giant Meth lab (sorry to do that), dead bodies with the graveyard being outside The Dome, and quite a few creepy shit-heads running around this small town.
Do I smell smoke?

Can't they tunnel under the stupid thing?
Steven King must have forgot to take his medicine for a few weeks when he wrote this one...

Apparently not. In the novel the DOME was impenetrable. It is like an Ant Farm with the people inside being ants.
There are people trying to dig under it but i think that the Dome is spherical and I don't want to spoil anymore of the TV show's possible plot line.
I will say this... The book ends when certain of the townsfolk find the "source" and the Dome is lifted.

So was Obama behind it and Hillary was in on it, then? Sounds like another Fox News ploy...
I agree with Dave, don't do it.

Give it a break and keep politics out of this thread.

Re: 'Under The Dome' Ratings
Was a big Stephen King fan when I was younger. Never read this novel. Nothing else intrigued me that night. Was not disappointed. Programmed the unit to record future airings.

Read the book; liked it. Saw and liked the first episode. Recorded but haven't yet watched the second episode.
