Hormonal Advice

Hi everyone

Back story: I have been taking hormones for about 2 years. But the first year was minimal doses that were slowly increased until a year ago. So right now, for the last year I have been taking a "normal" dosage of estradiol valerate injections, spironolactone, finasteride and prometrium. My last blood tests from my HRT Dr. show that I have high levels of Estradiol and prolactin while having low levels of Testosterone. But I feel something might be wrong.

I have not gained any weight since starting HRT, I have actually lost 10 to 15 pounds so I weigh 125.

This is really bothering my because I want to have a more feminine shape. I also have a very high libido. Which isn't bad but from what I have heard it isn't supposed to happen? In addition I have had minimal breast development. I have some internal structures but my nipples are still smaller than I would like.

Other than all that I pass very well.

Is it possible that having high levels of estradiol could be working against me?

I am seeing my HRT Dr in two weeks so she will definitely help me out but I would love to here some of your experiences and opinion! Thanks everyone!

That darn pesky DHT lol. Do you have high DHT?......you can have low T and high DHT. (there's an enzyme that can convert T into DHT very rapidly)Not to mention there are subtype varieties of androgens in bloodstream.

Whats your estradiol dosage?

higher usually doesn't mean it'll work better but higher doses are needed if your not castrated.

(I think this is why transexuals opt for castration, me thinks the longer the transitional period exacerbates the dysphoria and results are slower to attain.I don't blame these gals. No one deserves suffering)

femenine figure is tough and this is again bone structure. Mines a cross between a V-shaped and pear shape(gotta big bum trolololo) but dunno I'm no expert at this.

Some natal females have a V-shape figure anyways.

I think what's worrisome if you have heavy broud shoulders. This cannot be reversed even after E shrinks down muscle tone.

Mine are somewhere in between and it's why I refuse to do heavy lifting in this region. I just stick to heavy interval cardio and yoga stretches

oogie 292?

whats your height?

NB = I still contemplate very much about taking E. I know I will for that MtQf identity I long.

I was born to be butch, I will die a butch girl

I am on .5 ml of estradiol injection every ten days (I think thats the right unit) 200 mg of spironalactone, 5 mg finasteride and 200 mg of progesterone. M bone structure definately more feminine or androgynous, I pass very well at 5 foot seven. I have never had my DHT tested so I guess I will ask my DR about that....I just want boobies goddamnit!

Unless you ask your doctor he won't share specifics regarding full hormones. (A gender friendly lgbt clinic centre help btw)My libido is crazy aswell and it's due to the DHT.

If androgen blockers don't work(or not very well.....) then castration is your best bet.(My argument is mucking around with hormone regimens and undesirability to become full femme 100%)

But mind you DHT is a powerful T.(I won't go for castration but perhaps you might.....dunno)

I am also 5 ft 7 inches with tiny japanese like hands. The feet are midrange but look masculine.(size 9)

An alternative, if none of the antiandrogens help, is using Gonadotropine releasing hormone agonists. I'm on Triptorelin right now and notice marked effect. These drugs reduce both androgens and estrogens so they may not be useful in case of a MtF transition. I would add though, that Spironolactone in itself is a weak antiandrogen, so its ineffectiveness is not that telling. You should try Androcur (Cyproterone) - it is a potent antiandrogen and cheaper than Gonadotropine releasing hormone agonists.

I would love to be castrated or try one of the more effective blockers but I cannot afford it at this time. I hope my Dr. will have more insight as to what I can try to do. I have recieved good effects in other areas but maybe I am just being too greedy.

I'm gonna stick with a medium dosage of spiro. The female changes may take a while to finish but I'm happy with my "libidinous apetitos"
