I was just surfing the web, reading on one of my favorite sites "Raw Confessions" and what should I find but THIS:

I got offered some amazing money for simply taking a small suitcase lined with drugs into Singapore. Sounded so easy at the time but I got caught and went into one of their brutal prisons. i thought that my best way to survive was to be the tough guy. I am a big guy and my plan was working good. Then after months in that place a new female guard tried to prove herself while i was being moved to another cell and jabbed me hard in the back with her baton. My reaction was to turn around and head butt her. That was where everything went from bad to worse. A week later while in the shower a squad of guards came in and tazed me and then dragged me naked out into the yard. There all around were the prison guards and administrators. Looking out from the yard facing window bars were male prisoners on the one side wing and the females on the other side. I was taken to a 55 gal metal barrel, laid over it and tied over it. The guard that I assaulted was called over to watch and then I was caned in front of her. Caning is illegal in all but two countries because it tears skin, leaves terrible looking scars and can kill people from shock. I was caned 29 hits on the bottoms of my feet, my legs, my butt and my back. Before I was caned i was shown a hook hanging on a post in front of me. i got told that the caning would stop whenever I shouted out that i didn't want to be a man anymore. Once i said that the caning would stop and then my genitals would be cut off so everyone would see what happens to prisoners that attack female guards. I lasted 29 hits till i couldn't take it anymore and when I yelled out what everyone was waiting to hear, the prisoners on both sides started cheering about it. I was then tied on my back over the barrel. a rope was tied around my genitals and one of the guards came over and pulled tight till they were stretched outward. Then came the machete and in one hack I went from man to not a man and my genitals were laying in the dirt. Then one of the guards took my genitals to the hook and jabbed the hook right through the end of my penis and there were my genitals hanging on a hook in front of everyone like they said they would be. Then the guard I assaulted said to me. "No more tough guy now huh?" After that I was taken to the hospital infirmary. A week later I was put back in my cell naked. That night my cell was left unlocked and the guards watched prisoners come in,hold me down over the end of the bed and rape me. And I saw her watching, seeing what I'd become to everyone. One month later my family's petitions finally got to the right people and I was released to the American embassy. I was so happy but wished so much that my release was a month earlier.

OK, when I read it, my BS meter was going off loud. I don't believe this story, and I said so in the "comments" section. Simply because SINGAPORE HANGS DRUG SMUGGLERS, they make a big deal of it and make a big deal to be particularly harsh with anyone from the U.S. or Western Europe (google search "Angel Mou Ping" or "Caroline Delorme" - teenage girls that were hanged by Singapore). If they would hang a teenage girl for drugs, they sure as hell would not spare a "Big Arrogant Ugly American" for the same crime. Additionally, if someone were castrated/emasculated in this way, they would NEED immediate and extensive medical attention. I just don't see this happening. But then again, stranger things have happened and Singapore is a particularly cruel place.... still, I just don't buy it. DO YOU?

I agree that it sounds like BS, but it also sounds survivable, since he did receive swift medical attention.

Personally, the thing that makes it unbelievable is the complete lack of detail--besides the exact number of gallons and hits, anyway.

Let us remember that not too many years ago an American kid was caned for littering. Before they were allowed to carry out that punishment, the American Embassy as well as the State department were all over this. From what I read, apparently this is an American citizen and the chances of him being hauled into prison and held without informing the Embassy are almost non-existent. Then we get to the punishment. Drug smuggling into Singapore is a serious crime, in some cases it will get the death penalty. What was described here seems to have come from the S&M issue of Soldier of Fortune. (Just with no damsel saving him at some point.) Singapore is known to be excessive when it comes to all manner of capital punishment but this just seems outside reality. Had it happened and the US Government found out, this would have been a front page story, covered on all the morning chat shows, the evening news so I'm voting BS.

In Singapore, a life sentence lasts for a prisoner's natural life, but he can apply for a review of his sentence after he has served 20 years in jail.

The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) told The Sunday Times that the changes would affect 32 inmates on death row, whose appeals had been dealt with previously.

The amended laws provide a chance for these prisoners to apply for their cases to be reviewed for re-sentencing by the Court of Appeal under the new regime.

Prior to the changes that were gazetted on December 28, the death penalty was mandatory for drug trafficking in certain amounts, and murder.

The Penal Code defines murder as culpable homicide carried out in one of four mental states.

The changed laws make death compulsory only if the accused intentionally killed the victim.

For the other three mental states, judges can now impose a life sentence, with the addition of caning.

For drug trafficking, the death penalty will no longer be mandatory under two specific conditions: First, if the trafficker only played the role of a courier and had not been involved in other drug-related activities, and second, if the trafficker cooperated in a substantive way.

Fun website. Is ANY of it true? I'm sure some is, but there's no way to tell. I do know there's a lot beneath the smooth veneer of "normal" life. We all know how things are supposed to be. How they are may be quite different, especially for things like sex, which are private anyway.

I think it's about 10% real and 90% embellishment.

It is my understanding caning can vary, from social embarrassment to infliction of bodily harm.

The brat in Singapore deserved it and survived all the hoopla.

I don't think that the Muslims in Singapore would stand for this. Maybe a beheading, but NOT this. So, I vote B.S.

It's BS... Again simple logic will sufice. While caning is used as a punishment in Singapore. However the problem with the story is that if this guy was returned to the US Embassy this would have made a much bigger splash in the news. Therefore Hash would have found it and brought it to our attention much earlier....

OK, so it is pretty much unanimous, the story is BS, I thought so. NOW.... when are we going to see the same story in the EA story archive? You know it is going to happen if it hasn't happened already.
