As a women Doctor, I feel so enraged at the stupidity of those who advocate castration of all rapists. Chemical castration may have a part to play , but surgical castration is lunacy. Many years ago , while working in a South American Hospital, I had firsthand experience of this barbarity. A number of girls had been raped in a rural area. One night, two teenage boys were brought in. The had been thrown out of a van at the Hospital door. The were covered in blood. When their shorts were removed, I saw to my horror, that that both boys had been castrated. They had lost a lot of blood and we were lucky to save their lives. I recoiled at the thought of the agony they must have endured when they were being emasculated. To put it bluntly, they were castrated in the same way as one would castrate a hog, a cut at each side of the scrotum and the testicles taken out. It later transpired that both boys were innocent, with the rapist later being apprehended. They said afterwards that they had been abducted by a mob of women from the area where the rapes had been carried out. They were taken to a shack in the hills and stripped naked. They were subjected to brutal sexual assaults by these " good women" for two days. They were then tied down to a table and castrated by a woman , who declared herself most suitable for the task because of her experience of " cutting pigs " . Rember, these boys were innocent. Think again Ladies.

I believe that if a guy has been PROVEN to be the rapist by semen samples and a pelvic exam of the woman, proving forced entry, then let the castration begin! Why should they keep their goods, when the woman has been psychologically and probably physically destroyed? I know from experience that letting guys keep their testes after this horrible act is a mistake, as they will surely go do it again!

I say "guys" because no REAL MAN would rape a woman.

Some women have been known to claim rape when the sex was consentual. The evidence is the same as with rape.

Once rape can be proven without any doubt, both castration and penectomy would be appropriate punishment.

I don't completely agree. I think that the removals are perfectly fine, thank you, but don't think that they are a substitute for a nice lengthy prison stay.

Personally, for things like rape and the like, I'd argue for both: removals to take the weapon away, and incarceration to get them away from society.

If that means that the criminal becomes some inmate's bottom, well, there are worse punishments.

But to do all of this without due process, anesthesia, and so on?

Nah, that's too far. Process and all that.

You're right. A nice lengthy prison stay is efficient and the removal of the "weapon" (I like your term for their parts.) Yes, maybe they should have the privilege of anesthesia. Thank you for pointing that out!

There are ways you can tell if it's rape or not. Regular sex does not tear the lining of the vagina, but rape does.. I gotta know all this stuff for when I become a nurse.

Be very careful what you advocate. It's worth knowing that most reliable studies -- that is, those conducted by someone without an agenda -- have found rates of false rape reporting in excess of 50% (!!) -- and nearly all, regardless of methodology, show rates in excess of 30%. There are any number of reasons, ranging from an innocent case of mistaken identity, to using it as an "explanation" for her infidelity, right on up to malicious vengeance or a cynical play for financial advantage. And unlike most other crimes, the same "evidence" can exist with consensual sex as in forcible rape. It is overwhelmingly a "he said, she said" crime, for which guilt or innocence is determined on the basis of whom you believe.

Given the biases in our culture against men and in favor of women, I sure as hell wouldn't want to trust MY balls to a justice system that considered such mutilation a valid form of punishment. Nor would I wish to see us abandon the concept of equal protection under the law -- i.e., what do we do to women who molest teenaged boys? Cut their tits off? Forcible hysterectomy? If you advocate one, it's hypocritical not to advocate the other.

If you want to know if something you support is sexist or not, simply reverse the sexes and repeat the statement. If it still sounds reasonable, then it's probably at least reasonably fair. But if you recoil at the reversed suggestion, then you'd better rethink your position.

With all due respect..it's obvious you never really read my post. I put if one does rape one gets cut..I put it for both sexes. Plus also, it is about time women are dominant in society after being oppressed for so many years. I mean we just got the vote nearly a hundred years ago when men have had all freedoms for hundreds of years! About time we have the upper hand. Plus women get raped more than "men" do. Usually it's a guy who rapes a guy and not a woman. I mean after all it's pretty hard to rape a guy if he's flaccid.

No offense but we live in a WOMAN-dominated society, and always have. How can you tell? Because if men ruled society then it would be very different!

Women have always harnessed men to provide for them (and children). Men were useful for their violence (for hunting and warring) and for their strength (doing heavy duty jobs) and their sperm. The only problem is that men are fairly wild beasts and difficult to control. Occasionally a man will get out of control and strike out at the women who he associates with being oppressed.

Men have always had the more dangerous jobs, and women have never complained about that. Until 30 years ago, most men's work was physically arduous and very dangerous. After millenia of hardship, men finally invented enough technology to make their lives easier. Men decided to stop dying in war and so they invented democracy to organize themselves. Suddenly things were looking good for men THEN women started to get jealous.

In the late 60's, instead of sending their men out to the coal mines (or farms, or logging camps, or fishing boats) every day, most women were sending their men to nice offices. Suddenly women felt things were unfair!

Men are the primary rapists -- I agree with that. But that proves that society is female-dominated. Men act out on their frustration that society is not organized to provide them with their sexual needs.

If men dominated society, women would perform the dangerous jobs and would serve in the military. Sex would be easy for men to access, prostitution would be legal. Etc.

The only basic advantage men have over women is their physical strength. All other advantages, such as voting rights, higher pay, etc. is the result of men organizing in the face of oppression from females.

I guarantee you that 50 years ago a man's life was much worse than a woman's.

Note: I am not excusing rape or violence against women. I am just challenging your premise that rape is an example of male-dominated society. It is actually the opposite.
